Earlier this year i was on the Avon where I wittnessed some old prat, playing alarge fish, nothing wrong in that .
Well there is when he had an landing net suitable for Roach, no unhooking mat ,
I asked what he was fishing for where apon he looked at me as if i was mad
and said Barbel of course
I then said how do you expect to get a Barbel in that net He then said no problem ile beach it
By now i was fuming
After a quick run round to my swim to get my net i then noticed he had no mat either
So back i go to retrieve mine,
We finished with the fish 12lb
z nice fish and still is.
My point is had i not been there i dred to think what the idiot would of done or the state of the fish.
Im sure there are many like this' its about time there was more article's on fish care and Handlling code's.
Its mostly common sense but not for all

on tele doing same thing bad angling leads to dead fish, education is the best way forwards never enough of the latter' 
As for me fishing for Barbel 3 yrs or so i was fishing in the early 70s so think im more than capable of handling a big fish plus ive probably had more big fish than you have had dinners so shut up go away crawl back under your stone re write the handling code for this century.
