The only thing i find is a good hard Chub bite will remove the Meat from the hair rig. Has anyone out there got any good tips on how to keep it on better.if so would love to hear from you If you dont want to post it on the site you can pm me,becouse not every one want to tell every one there little tricks. Tight lines to All A good Bait that is not use as much now but they still have it.

If the chub or barbel get finicky, pick up the rod,open the bail arm and touch leger letting the fish take as much line as they need to feel confident in moving off with the meat. You basically push a length of plastice tube through the lump of meat then thread this on the hair, then use the stopper that hooks into the hair loop. I've used this when using meatballs and it does work if being a little fiddly. Cheers, Andy F

That way you get the benefit of more flavour leakage and more chance of some or all of the meat staying on the hook if some of it falls off. You can always break bits off the meat if you aren't happy with a cube-shape!

Posts: 1301 (25/09/06 13:06) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	i hair rig large bits of meat, but you have to really think about the cast, if im fishing close in i use meat, far out i use something a bit tougher, like a pellet or boilie. meat is a deadly bait tho, what i do is take a 'cube' (any shape really) thats about 1-2 inches, find the nearest tree, and a stem from a leaf or split a small twig thats just smaller than the meat, use it as the hair stop. this'll hold it on, it does me well and costs.... nowt

Not my idea, Steve Stayner's - works well for him.
