Not ideal conditions for their first river session as it was up and coloured. We decided to use worm's...... They did manage a nice 2lb 8 oz Chub for Ben (PB). A PB Gudgeon for Jess...... and a PB Bullhead for Ben..... The Bullhead gave a fantastic wrap around bite . Great fun, and just how I had hoped it would have gone. Imagine if one of then had caught a nasty great big Barbel . All taken on a small quiver tip rod, 4lb line, 12 hook and a lob worm. Steve

After them both siting with me on Sunday morning watching him catch Chub and Barbel from the Kennett, they both decided they wanted to go fishing. I had been out all day on Saturday fishing, so I didn't fancy the chances of the wife saying yes , but she was fine with it . I hoped the river would be clear, so they could sight fish for the Chub, but they both still enjoyed it. We also found a nice Umbro football washed down in the floods, and then spent a couple of hours picking Conkers on the way home All in all, a lovely afternoon, and something I will be doing much more of. I know the water has to be really pure. The only place I've come across them around here is Dowels Brook..
