It's been a tough start, I fished the first night from midnight until 2am for 2 Bream. No one else caught a thing. Up again at the crack of dawn and success with a lovely 10lb 9oz opening moring Barbel which pleased me some what. Then just a bream. Been out for a short session this morning for more Bream ! The Barbel certanly don't seem to be up for it at the moment, no one I have spoke to has caught anything et alone Boris. River dearly needs some water in it to freshen it up and sort out that naff tea brown colour, then it should kick off. Meanwhile I shall keep perservering ! Good luck everyone. J

I,ve never found the Thames to be much kop on the barbel front until mid july. peter

When can we expect the algal bloom to clear Dr Cass ?

Look for big cabbage beds and undercut banks and keep mobile. Goodluck Ollie

Posts: 8 (21/06/09 17:13) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	got back from father thames at hampton court this morning after doing a 2 nighter had 1 barble 9lb 4 bream 1 catfish as you can see 21lb 10oz i am well the water colour is still brown/rusty colour but been told its starting to clear further up so hopefully will clear sooner than later. saw 1carp lump out last night a very good fish in its 30s but no carp on the bank. anyway be up there again this week so would be good to put a face to people names, cheers john

One barbel, 4 bream and a cat in 48hrs, mmmmm! hardly fishing its head off, just as well i,am off to Jersey for a week, to give the bass a hardtime, hopefully the fish will have got going when i return! peter
