Well done Graham, I will be very interested to know how you get on. I am building up to the Canadian sturgeon dream as I know it is expensive and I need to
save some money.
This Feb I am having a trip out of Key west for Jewfish or goliath grouper as they are known now and there is a chance of hooking one well in excess of 200lb. In October I am off to the Ebro again with Colin Bunn and Catmaster tours to do battle with them giant pussies, its good fun and Mequinenza is a lovely place. Then in late summer 2009 I am hoping to at last do the rockies and have a couple of days after Sturgeon. heres hoping and once again best of luck. If you get hold of a copy of a book 'John Wilson's greatest fishing adventures' there's a nice article in there about Sturgeon fishing on the Fraser and I believe John still does the odd guided tour out there. |

Cheers Jed....No wonder you can't afford that Sturgeon trip yet....with all the other plans.!! I have booked with Cascade. My old friend Keith Truscott
has been with them the last few yeras, mind you all he could nmanage as the biggest was a measly 750lber!
Tim, Great pleasure to see pictures of dear Dave and sadly, recently passed away Kay catching them Sturgeon in part 1. I have been fortunate to fish with Dave and Kay at their house in Romsey a couple of times in the past 2 years and hope to vist Dave again before the seasons out. Reminded me of those pictures on the wall of their adventures. Couple of nice 8lb plus stunningly beautiful brownies in amongst the Grayling last time. Thanks Guys.

I was doing a night dive some years ago and a Grouper of a similar size to the one shown appeared out of the gloom, a very intimidating fish indeed, they
absolutely boss their patch, the silly thing was that they flare their gills and fan out their pecs to, now get this, make themselves look bigger!
They start to behave when you feed them but never by hand as they may have that as well. Anne xxx |

I fished for giant grouper out of Key West last february. I hooked 4 but due to the nature of the inadequate kit I was provided with they all made it back to
the wreck very quickly indeed. For 10 or 15 seconds though the fight was incredible. I ended up catching a 200lb lemon shark that was easy to subdue by
comparison.
Key West, I want to be there now i've thought of it! Well Graham you must be due back from canada soon. How did u get on? |
