hi anyone seen the river levels today, thinking of fishing on sunday.

I fished the Swale this morning, the level had rose another 18" overnight so I reckon it was up 3ft at least but it was dropping very quickly today..I
fished the Swale yesterday & had 3 barbel & lost 3
..today was a
grueller I managed 1 just as I was packing up..yet the river looked spot on, the only reason I can think of is the barbel had a feast yesterday & slept it
off today..
So tomorrow Paul..your guess is as good as mine. |

Day ticket stretches – Night fishing tickets...???
|
Hello Gents I'm in the Armed Forces, home on leave for the month and usually fish the Trent at Collingham but fancy some new waters to go at. I'm located in Hull so targeting anything realistically commutable for a fishing session or two. I'm hopeful someone could give me a steer regards day tickets and night fishing availability, PM if not wanting to divulge information on here, I appreciate it can become a circus on some good river stretches (ala Trent and Collingham).
Thanks in advance,
Andy |

8 pounder weekend | ||
|
Hi all
Been putting a lot of short sessions in with the odd fish now and again, alot of blanks, well chub on the ball. I seemed to pick wrong venue or peg for the conditions, which i seemed to get right last season, very challenging,it went well this weekend. friday-7.12lb barbel, one hookpull, one missed run Saturday 8.14lb 8.10lb 8.5lb Sunday 8.4lb 5.15lb Hope things on the up for us that have been finding things hard going, this season alot of changes and leg work, new swims paid off.Back to reality the next few sessions more than likely, but dont care,i like a few blanks to make the good days that much more special. Thanks good hunting Phil |

Nice fish Phil, long time since I have seen a post from you!
I fished the Swale in 2 parts today, up near my mum's place first of all, river rose about a foot in an hour then levelled off. Had 2 chub in 2 casts, no sign of any barbel though. Then later I went to the middle Swale and fished a new peg for me, looked spot on. Had a good bite after an hour then had a hook pull. It was a heavy fish but it was not a barbel I am fairly sure, but then whatever it was came off the hook. I was cursing that so even though it was a brand new hook I changed it, only to bump another fish off on the next cast. I haven't lost a barbel to a hook pull in a year and a half so I was really cheesed off by this point and wondering what had gone wrong with my usually safe rigs! It went very quiet after that until yet again another good bite, this time I had it on properly. Strange fight, heavy thud in the current and to my surprise - a bream, a right old slab at that, I didn't weigh it but it had to be 6lbs plus. Thats a PB river bream for me and one I was surprised to have caught. Having landed it I was fairly sure the other 2 fish I lost were bream as well, they gave the same fight till I bumped them off. So no barbel today but at least I had something for my efforts. I felt better knowing the fish I lost were bream. By the way the river was that funny tea colour which I never do well in when fishing for barbel. Julian |

A good weekend there Phil, saturday was a flyer.. Julian I was hoping for an afterwork session tonight, but if it's the colour of tea I might just save
myself a 75 mile round trip..then again it's still better than watching corrie

hi all i normally fish the tees, could any one give me any info for morton bridge, please pm me with bait and tactics, as i had 6 hours and fished about ten
spots, and didnt have a touch, but looking at putting a bit more effort on the stretch, as it was a nice stretch to fish just a shame it was biteless, baits i
used garlic spam, pellet, boilie, caster, and corn.any help would be appreciated thanks.

Once in a lifetime Session
|
have just returned from 2 days on the bank and died & went to heaven, not in my 35 years of fishing have I experienced anything like it. My Personal Best
Barbel was beaten twice in 48 hours.
Monday PM: 2 x 5lbs, 1 x 9.2lbs & a new Personal Best 9.14lbs. Tuesday PM: 7 x 5lbs, 3 x 6lbs, 1 x 8.4lbs, 1 x 9.4lbs, 2 x 7lbs and new Personal Best taken at 23.20hrs 1 x 10.2lbs. Tuesday night I had in total as you can see 15 Barbel in one session and would like to thank John from Leeds for netting, witnessing and photographing some cracking fish, John himself had 6 Barbel largest being 7.5lbs before he had to pack up and go home. As you can imagine Im on a high right now. |

andy ive not fished cundall this season but as far as it being the place to be, i beg to differ its hard going,ye best bet is to stay mobile and prebait a few
areas and leave them for a couple of hours, but ul know when you get a barbel down there as there some big ones about, but like i said its hard going depending
on what baits u are using im planning on going next week, but im gonna try the feeder and use natural baits maggot lobworm and caster and hemp, as i know a few
lads have said they produce with naturals better than pellet boilies this time of year but if you fish 2 rods u could try both baits and see what produces the
fish,HOPE THIS HELPS regards john.
