Broke my duck |
Lead | |
|
Well Gents broke my barbel last night on the River Tees. Started with a 9.5lb, then a 3lb chub and capped it off with a 6.5lber and last but by now means least
a lovely 7lber. Walked back to the car grinning like a Cheshire cat on Ecstacy. First barbel's I've ever caught and am blown away by the raw power of
them. All fish were returned safely but was worried about the 7lber as it took a good 10minutes to recover but in the end it swam away safe and sound. I have
found a wealth of info on this site and would like to thank you all for helping me in my pursuit of the king of the river. can't wait to get back out now
and try again.

Well done Bob!
Regarding the Fish that took ten mins to recover properly,....unfortunately at this time of year its part of the game with higher water temps that a percentage of barbel being caught take a while to get their breath back, however you obviously handled them well, so well done mate and keep your mind open to the conditions and different situations you will find yourself fishing in, and many more will come your way! |

Grats Bert. Thought my Greys 1.75lb tc rod was bit stiff till I hooked the first one and was thankful for it. Bent from tip to butt and soaked up the awesome
runs of the fish and helped stop them hitting the snag they were all keen to get to. Lost one on the snag but to be honest I couldn't have stopped it with
an elephant gun
Had a lot of respect for barbel before catching one and it has grown since catching one. |
