and there exists the inherent challenge with plastic arms/spreader blocks chaps, regardless of brand.

"A mound of earth on Walton Breck Road was created for the growing numbers of fans to watch the team. It was called the 'Spion Kop' after a

There are the usual weak points with most landing nets. Some are fine for arm chair swims but put them to test in less than favourable locations and situations
then a good proportion could fail.
The Insight is OK but I feel expensive for what you actually get. Quite easy to make your own - especially if you have a mesh which will last and last and last............. Cheers Bob |

Ive said it before but it's worth saying again, Mine is like Triggers brush, It's had two frames and three meshes so far.
At the moment it is a TFG spoon frame, (about 24 or 28 inches) with a middy thirty plus mesh from a triangular net. This is a good combination but I do like the frame on the Korum spoon, imo the mesh needs to be deeper though. |

I could have sworn I had already posted this, but this is the one I use http://www.purepiscator.com/viewReview.aspx?id=19
Personally, I prefer the smaller type of mesh, but the river mesh might appeal to some people.

I am currently using a Drennan Super Specialist 20 inch landing net but i have found it is too small for Barbs and is not deep enough to rest the fish.
I am Thinking about buying the Fox 32 inch Barbel landing net, does anyone use this, is it any good? |

Hi Colin
I've got the Fox 32" and am in the process of getting rid of it, I've had the spreader block snap but the biggest problem is the deep net is too unwieldy in fast flowing water especially if netting your own fish, the net gets caught in the flow and stops you manouvering the net and prolongs the playing of the fish. It is much better for Tench than Barbel I saw a Berkely Specimum Oval net last weekend which also folded up, does anyone know of a stockist? |

whiskerton wrote: They're not cheap. I think this is the only place that sells them http://www.davistackle.co.uk/stuff.htm, although I got mine straight from the manufacturer. I've lost the details now though. The funny thing is that they've been around for a very long time, because I remember seeing one in the 1970s. There were problems with the plastic spreader block then, but they are very much tougher now.

Actually had two of these - a 36" and a 50" - although known then as a fastnet, mine actually had Efgeeco Titan marked on them (late 70's or
early eighties). Used my 36" for barbel and pike for many happy years - in fact got most of the bits even now. Think there was a 24" and 30"
version as well. May even put the bits back together sometime in the near future.
I occasionally see them at retailers and think that they were also more recently known as a Redport Fastnet. In fact Redport Net still do the spares, including spare netting. http://www.landing-nets.co.uk/view.aspx?id=158 Cheers Bob
