Fished yesterday from 3pm to 9pm. The river was up about a foot and had a good flow, but quite a lot of debris coming down. Had four chub and 3 barbel, best

Went to Hereford on Monday, it's about a fifty minute drive from my house in Llandrindod wells. First cast brought a greedy 3lb chub second cast missed a
bite, recast and the mobile went off "it was the wife who'd gone shopping around Hereford saying that our daughter had fallen off a bench at school
and the school had asked us to go back as she'd been taken to hospital" I put my foot down and got back home to find that mother in law had picked her
up and she was fine!
Oh well that's the joys of parenthood for you

out this afternoon/evening just got back ended up with 3 barbel and 3 chub...
had a posse of canoes this afto come down full of 14-15year olds as it happens i had my rods out of the water at the time, they were making a helluva racket, jumping over the side into the river and allsorts, thanks a lot i thought, must have scared every fish in site, as soon as they had barely passed i chucked one rod out more in hope than anything else and by the time it had reached bottom the rod was flying off the rest, barbel about 7lbs graced the net, cheers kiddies you must have woken that one up.... lost a shedload of terminal tackle today as well, trouble is where the snags are, so are the fish........ |

Can any of you Wye anglers help? I shall be fishing a stretch near hay on wye in the next week or so and wondered how the wye around this area generally
fishes?
I normally fish with meat or corn and wondered if this tends to hook up, or is the pellet the best route....... Also does the wye fish well when at a low summer level..... Any suggestions would be good...... |

Hi folks. Have had to change my fishing plans for tomorrow to a session on the lovely Wye around Ross (as I'm dropping someone off there). I've never
fished it before so any help with day ticket stretches that I could try would be appreciated. Many thanks. Chris

Had a cracking afternoon on the Wye, on Friday.
I didn't actually fish, just gillied a couple of Swedish lad's that were over last week. We did a short evening session, and ended with 14 Barbel to 9,14 and a Chub. Nothing complicated, just feeder and pellet, but great fishing all the same. Many thanks to my contact...... , I owe you mate.

well you didn't miss anything chris..
struggled today in hot bright conditions 1 barbs about 6 and a chub about 3.5lbs, my lad had a scamp, 3 chub, a gudgeon and a roach all on double pellet, how that gudgeon got caught i'll never know... shedloads of canoes coming down and i think somebody decided to chop half the forest of dean down, had a spell for about an hour of branches, plants, logs and all sorts coming down as well, couldn't keep a bait in the water and geez it was hot.. roll on the autumn, i think i'll leave the wye for now until it quietens down a bit.... |

Know what you mean philbloke its absolute carnage on the wye at the mo innit?!When i fished it yesterday i must have had 100 canoes go by in 4 hours or
so,im surprised its still that bad on a weekday though!I honestly think they'd feed all day if it wasn't for the disturbance, but as soon as the boats
start coming down its game over i reckon!Early morns and late evenings for me from now on! |

rainman i think school holidays have started in some parts of the country, the majority of them were youngsters so when they are all home from school it's
gonna be like the spanish armada..lol..
fair play though the majority of them are pleasant and give you a wide berth but like anywhere you get the odd bellend who hasn't an ounce of common sense... i fished the wye through last winter and had been spoilt with peace and quiet but the last two trips i've been crashing back to earth, it's not viable for me to go further north so i'll just sit it out till autumn, i might even fish my local river for a change, i've only fished it once this season... |

As I drove over the Wye today I must have seen about 8 rowing canoes with 2+ people in each.
