Just bought a new tele, Panasonic Viera, it has a slot for a SD card to display your camera shots. Trouble is I have
a Canon Powershot G6 camera which uses compact flash cards. Now is there any way I can adapt my compact flash card to fit in the SD slot. Living in hope. Terry. |

Download files to a PC then load onto your SD card.

Many thanks Simone for the reply.
But being a complete PC idiot I have no idea how to down load from PC to SD card. Is there not a simpler way to do this. Cheers Terry. |

Simone's an expert, it's just that "she" doesn't include enough words ............
You just need a card reader, mine was from Jessops and it was about £14. see here You connect this to a USB port on your PC and it becomes a set of removeable drives, one for each slot in the reader, each of which take different types of card. for example Removeable Drives (F:), (G), (H), (I) You can drag and drop between them and your C Drive I know it doesn't answer your question as such - you "could" make a converter but you'd need a couple of card readers, some wire, a soldering iron, lots of luck - just not worth it. I have a Viera and didn't even know it had a slot. I was thinking more along the lines of connecting my laptop to the TV

My DVD player has a number of ports for different cards including the CF one out of my Cannon G6. Its a Toshiba and was about £30 from memory and does away
with the need to unload and reload different cards.

If your PC is a fairly new one, it is fairly likely to have SD and Compact Flash ports, in which case you use Windows Explorer to copy the data over. If your
PC doesn't have the card slots, then as Paul said, a card reader will handle both types at once. I would open Windows Explorer to look at the contents of
the Compact Flach card, then leaving it open, open Windows Explorer in another window and click on the SD card so that they are side by side on the screen. In
the Compact Flash window, click on Edit | Select all, then either copy them and them paste them into the other folder or simply drag them over. There are loads
of slightly different methods of doing it, but I think that method leaves less room for error.

I meant that if "she" was a woman "she'd" have used more words than that, and always the last one
