Hi Kev,
I too feel that there is a definate lack of large barbel style feeders on the market, however Middy, make a good tunnel style one, up to 5oz's in weight. They hold loads of bait, and due to their tunnel shape (flat bottom) they hold bottom nicely. There's loads on Ebay, alothough quite expensive. Check it out ps, they also do them in 2 and 3 oz DD http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Middy-fishing-tackle-5-x-barbel-tunnel-feeders-5oz_W0QQitemZ150269915607QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item150269915607&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 |

digitaldan wrote: £5.99 that's a bit steep isn't it? Anyway, yes I can vouch for ScubaSteve's feeders, they are excellent and I have caught on them, the big ones
he does are a bit big for regular or normal fishing but I use them for baiting up, however the medium ones are ideal and fantastic for Barbel.

whattablanka wrote: After using the climax feeders for a season (they used to sell them £15 for 10 - heavens knows why the price has gone upto £2.50 each) I can confirm that
the quality is pretty rubbish. The wire cage they are made of begins to deterioate and a few uses. This leaves some sire bits exposed.

I found the Middy barbel feeders to be less than robust - the weight's not attached very securely. Good feeder otherwise.

just ordered some Nisa feeders myself up to 4oz from
http://www.feedersdirect.co.uk/uk_shop/big_pigs.html really efficient service, received them by post next day and they look like they are built to last. Steve. |

Speaking from experience I would watch the o-rings on those nisa feeders, they do perish and they will break on the cast.
The problem is made worse if you use allot of oil in your feed as oil is known to degrade rubber. I normally replace the o-rings on mine with a powergum or strong braid link before I use them. |
