Alright mate just had a quick scan it looks like the reason for this is that they are tinkering with the website a bit,so it's offline!Should be back up
and running before too long!

Accuweather.com - just select UK and Ireland on the homepage.
I get the same search engine when I go to Metcheck. Bizarre. |

The Metcheck Homepage and fully functioning site is to be found here -
http://92.48.114.106/V40/UK/HOME/ - until, I suppose, the numbers get changed to Metcheck.com. Type your postcode or a town name into the box etc to get a 2 - 3 day forecast......... |

Just did a 'whois' and I wonder if the domain name expired and someone else aquired it. Happens all the time in the US, companies forget to renew and a
sniper dives in and then tries to sell the web address back.
Strange to be as big as them and now just an ip address EDIT, just seen the note on the home page about moving servers, that would explain it.

For a quick glance the BBC three day (text only) is handy. For a detailed forecast I'll add another vote for Accuweather using the 5 day which also has a
temps graph at the bottom. Metcheck usually know what they're talking about. For a much better idea of what's happening up there I use
www.metoffice.gov.uk.
The rainfall radar is priceless giving real-time graphics of where it's raining + moving graphics of the last few hours so you can see where it is & where it's going. Check it every day to see if there's rainfall in your river catchment area!! The surface pressure forecast animation shows you what to expect regarding fronts & systems moving in for a few days in advance and the satellite imagery global, europe, u.k. visible & u.k. infrared (for night-time) show what amount of cloud (rain) is on the systems & fronts. When used all together you can do a home-brewed forecast that's often better than that offered by the experts. The ones on telly are a laugh - why bother telling viewers to expect occasional showers across the midlands when they know full well the exact location and path of the showers ( for instance, in a fifty mile wide track from manchester to birmingham & nowhere else????) |
