Had a session on the middle last night, levels up and river looks to be in tip top condition. Lost a big plated mirror at the net when the hook pulled, looked
like it would of gone 20
. However, finally found my first beards of the season in '
little & large' , a lovely little 12oz baby boris and a better fish that went 9.8 . Good luck to those fishing tonight and Saturday , reckon there could be some
decent reports to follow.

hi everyone,
i'm staying at a pub called the Trooper in Windsor next week due to being on a training course. Does anyone know of any free\day ticket stretches of the Thames near windsor (less than 5 miles). I'll probably only be able to fish Monday evening but as I'm so near I thought it'd be a shame not to wet a line. Thanks Pete |

Opened the Thames account last night with a 6.0 and 6.7 also a 5.3 chubb and a very small bream around a pound. Barbel on boilies, chubb & bream on
pellets. River conditions were excellent, lots of coloured water up around 2ft and no rubbish coming through
Had to wait until 2am for the barbel to turn up, so only just surfaced for a coffee Tight lines Alan |

Hiya Alan,
Sounds like you had an almost identical evening to myself, first trip on the Thames this year. Aweful lot of Bream though on the pellet rod, even picked one up on the boilie. Lovely night to be out, fished in just a tshirt 'till 3am. River looks spot on at the moment, didn't think there was more than about a foot on it where I was (depends on the weirs I guess) but nice and coloured with a bit of a push. Cheers Paul |

Had a bit of a nightmare afternoon session today, first swim, two rods out, nothing, both rods snagged solid. Moved swim, had a real rod wrencher that I failed
to connect with?, recast hooked a barbel, but the feeder was snagged, fish could pull away, but I could only get it back so far then solid, tried everything,
but pulled for a break in the end. Caught a 6lber a couple of minutes later, then snag city. My guess is that the zebra muscles were feeding in the coloured
water, so there shells were open, the area is normally OK, but not today!!!

Paul,
Only the one small bream, so not nuisanced by them. Besides I fished 2 x large boilies which usually puts the bream off but not the barbel
Dont know about being warm though, me and my mate had tee shirts sweatshirts and hoodies on as we felt quite chilly in the wind, must be old age creeping on you must be ard core![]()

Early Season PB | ||

Well fella's, what a season I'm having. Short session today on the mid, action within 5 minutes with a race tuned 7 lber, followed by two more. Just before 3pm, had a real rod wrencher, greated with that lovely positive resistance that we all crave. Played what felt like a really good fish for about 5 minutes when everything went solid. This continued for what seamed like an age, eventually after much slack lining, it free'd up, but was dragging loads of tangled line, with much weed, and an old feeder behind it. What with the extra pressure on the rod tip along with the extra flow, it was like landing a skip. Anyway, the fish was obviously tired and so was I....Here she is... A new PB of 13lb 2oz. Well Happy, oh and she went back fine....

Lovely fish that, Dan. Especially well done on getting it out after such a challenging fight. Not easy. Congratulations from an envious Colne-fisher...
