Reading posts on BFW i'm occasionally surprised at how much (or little) people seem to go..
My missus thinks i'm a bit obsessed at the moment (I don't see the problem!) - i've fished 11 sessions since the season started, about 55hrs..

I try to fish at least 2 evenings and 1 afternoon, I would do more but I have other activities apart from fishing.
Next week when the other half is Portugal it will be 4 evenings. |

I had a near solid week last week but due to having my little girl on a once every 2 weeks set up that's how my fishing will have to be done.

I try and get out 2 or 3 times a week, usually evening sessions after work, I finish pretty early most days and live close to the river so I like to go over
mid week as it usually quite then. I sometimes fish the on the weekend if I am sitting around bored with nothing to do.
Its great living close by as we can grab our kit and get down there easily when the conditions are right, especially in the winter. |

this year i've had too seriously curtail my number of fishing trips ,I've started a job that nvolves working sat mornings and have been saving up for
the deposit of my next (motorbility) car of £500 which bites hard but worth it .and what with the cost of petrol means only local fishing for me .Lucky that i
live between the derwent & trent and a stones throw from the dove then.

By the end of the season it'll probably average out at just a little over once a fortnight. As my namesake wrote earlier, fatherhood brings its own
responsibilities.....and they transcend any angling.

Obsessed is probably about right. In fact knowing the stretches you fish without being an obsessive you wouldn,t do it. I,v fished about the same number of sessions and probably more hours for not much reward. Far better to be an obsessive angler than a non angling obsessive poster. Keep the obsession going and enjoy that biggie when it comes, you,ll deserve it. ATB Harry. |

Ive sussed that if I take the wife and kids out on Sunday, she's then reasonably happy for me to go one or two evenings a week - when i fish 7 til 10.30.
However since business is slow at the mo since the beginning of this so called "credit crunch" - i am now able to do every other friday as a proper session.... If the missus is happy - everyone is happy... (thats not right surely?) |
