Out at Cotheridge last night - I was the only car in the carpark which for July on the Teme is good going in my eyes!!
Had a couple of splashers and a nice chub. Plenty of bites and interest - I was only there for about 2 hours. There were some VERY strange noises (not just the scarecrow) coming from the opposite bank - blokes yelling and shouting at something... is that a regular occurance or something to be worried about???? |

leave it................
They have some very weird "bird scarers" in the fields just above our bit, which make a god awful racket, might have been those? The shouting is more likely to have come from BAA water above...............

The bird scarers sound like Foxes screaming... this was grown men yelling and shouting. I usually blame the Brummies for most things though

it was a recording of some evil beasty thing. Strange lot those farmers Didn't seem to scare the barbs though.

Strange evening | ||

Hi all, went down to the river for a few hours last night. Had a good fish on second cast, powered off downstream at a steady rate(felt very heavy) and then
the hook pulled, so i suspect it was fin clipped. For the ext two hours I was very busy but caught nothing. I had the rod pulled off the rest 4 times (lucky I
was holding it ) and constant knocks and tugs, I could feel the fish as they were feeding round the bait and feeder. In the end I tucked my line into the
feeder and banded a small piece of boilie to the hook. Three casts and 3 Barbs, then it started to pour down so back for a cuppa and a chat with the guests.
Best fish caught today was just over 9 and a 7 pound Bream as well. What is worrying is that a Catfish was seen in one of the pools, a silty area, and when I
was there two days ago I saw lots of bubbles coming up, almost like from a divers tank. Anyway, thats where I will be today, although I have never caught one
before(especially in the Teme).
Any advice welcome. Bill |

Don't put your hand in! Whereabouts? Use pm if you want.
Had a nice barb yesterday afternoon from the new (1st) peg in the first field above the bridge, maybe 7.5-8lb. Didn't weigh it, bloody spreader block snapped in the process. Long lean fish. Dug out the steps as well. Don't forget if you want to see my Peregrine rod give me a ring or drop me a mail. |

Hi Andrew, I saw your motor there. I fished upstream last night where I lost the Carp last year, lot of action but only a few caught.
The Cat is in the step swim by our house. I will be there all day if you want to fish the top end of the pool. Cheers Bill |

Put two rods out for the Cat today, one with a donkey choker and one with a dead bait, but no interest, so fished pellet for a few hours and had 1 Chub and 4
Barbel to around the 7 pounds.

Bill...first 3 hours of darkness is the best time to catch them when they first start to go on the feed...

The river is chocolate and still on the rise and very fishy. Popped down this evening and caught a scamp from the margins on pellet.
Dazza thanks for the info, I have not had much experience catching catfish, but when the river settles I will try a night session (any excuse) Bill |
