Short session again for me and just when i thought the Chub couldn't get any bigger a 7lb 4oz Monster drifted over the net(a real old warrior)
Fished on in disbelief and topped the session off with a 8lb Barbel,went home very happy!! |

where's barbie?
fished 0430 to 10am today close to the A40, just one chub, had a mad carp in the swim into the low double whizzing around like it had been forced to eat red bull boilies, damn thing nearly broke the end of my rod off jumping around!!!!.......with that and about 20 feral aggressive ducks in the swim as well, not much chance of getting a settled swim. back another day.

Took my father-in-law for a short session to try and catch him his first Barbel and after a monster battle on my new found beat he landed a 10lb 1oz beauty
followed by a 6lb 1oz scrapper,i think it may not only be the Barbel that was hooked!!

Nice day on the river dodging thunderstorms.
Had a carp (9lb 4oz) and a couple of chub (3lb, 5lb 4oz). No barbel. River rising as I left and clarity worsening. Could be good the next day or two.... |

Following on...never a good sign....
First double of the season (10lb 4oz) and a 5lb+ chub. River level up, pacey but slowing and not nearly as much colour as I was expecting - barely any in fact. How are others doing? |

Early session for me today and notched up my first double 10lb 6oz,catching a few when i get the time,noticed how silent this forum is regarding the
Colne??????is everybody on holiday???or something else???Water dropping back and still very clear

Mixed day at the alternative office.
Some nice chub (5lb 7oz, 6lb 4oz, 5lb 4oz, 3lb) Two lost barbel. 
Must have been frayed line for the first - it went above the swivel (running rig and barbless hook). The second was a small one and it was a hook pull. How's ya luck! Got a PB chub though, so can't grumble. As the naughty one says: where is everyone? |

2 more Barbel for me,only small ones but still very welcome and a 5lb plus Chub,
Went home happy! Only downside sat in a swim for 45mins only to find the bait was in the tree! How many times will that happen this season? |

Went back to set right the woeful mistakes that led to two lost fish yesterday.
And, as luck would have it, I had two barbel - off my first two casts. Then a handful of chub over the course of the afternoon. Not bad for a free bit. How are you doing PaulW? You on the Colne or the Kennet? |

Met some interesting characters today whilst on the river to say the least,
managed 2 barbel and a nice Chub before work dragged me away! Watched a few fish feeding to, most relaxing! |
