Couldnt resist logging on from Albufeira!! Its 33 degrees here today and it has been at least 30 every day. Im havin a great time but you are right Steve, Im
that much of a saddo that I am missing the barbelling. Next year the foot goes well and truly down, I am not going on holiday at the start of the new season. I
had waited months to get going and then had to leave it!!!
Gonna enjoy last few days and then Ive got 3 days at the end of this week to get some serious fishing done. Hope you lot get a bit of rain and then the rivers will be in good nick by the time I get back!! Sorry, just being selfish there...
All the best guys, tight lines. Julian |

Hi guys, just after your thoughts on fishing with some water in, after rain..I've found when it's on the up I don't seem to have a good day..But
when it's topped & dropping sport seems great, even a few days after it's dropped.. Just after some feedback..thanks.

Event: today, 10-5pm, lower Swale, new stretch for me
River: SL clear Weather: sunny, breezy, 19C Fish: 7-1 about lunch time in my 3rd peg BotD: swifts Did a bit of exploring with quite a few moves, pleased to catch at all on my first visit, surprised nothing showed trundling meat through the streamer weed. |

Did anybody fish sheephills farm yesterday afternoon?
I fished the swale in the afternoon and had 3barbel to around 8 1/2 also had 6 chub , not the best fishing ive had on the swale but one of the most enjoyable evenings fishing Ive had for a long time. |

water levels etc. | ||
|
Peat water kills the sport in my 15 yrs experience of the Cundall/Crakehill beat. The Env Ag 'Rivercall' service is often useful but gives levels only. If it's the colour of tea I just go home. |

The river was a slight tea colour yesterday. When the river is up and dropping
with a rich tea colour Ive had the best fishing . I think the swale fishes best with 3 feet off extra water in it. |

last Saturday as the river level was dropping with just a tinge..

Leeds or Bradford No.1 Angling Club | ||
|
I've been a member of Bradford No.1 for the last few seasons mainly because I found a swim on The Swale that has usually been kind to me.
However I am considering getting the Leeds book this year as they appear to have more choice of water around the Asenby/Topcliffe area. Also, What is the access like for the Asenby stretch on the Leeds ticket ?, Is it possible to park near the A168 road bridge stretch ? Anyone have any opinions on which club has the best waters before I take the plunge. Also I wish angling clubs would have an online facility for processing subscription fees, as far as I can see for Leeds you have to download a form then send it with a cheque, whereas Bradford you have to drive to one of the designated tackle shops that sell thier book. Cheers Steve |

The swale at asenby is a good water as is topcliffe the problem is they are very popular its not unusual to have 8 anglers in a row at topcliffe evan on a
weekday, asenby is very popular also and theres matches on most weekends, theres a thread on the leeds forum at the moment under match bookings with people
complaining about being moved on because of matches, there is no access to the stretch from the road bridge end.
