if your gonna pay £200 for an x-flite (which i did) before asking advice!!!!!!!!!!!! , i would rather pay the extra and get an i-power, miles, miles better rod

Ditto whats already been said.
Seriously no comparison between a Greys (even an X-Flite) and a Harrison blank. The Harrison wins every time. If you can get a custom built one (you could do a lot worse than our own Bob Gill) then I really don't think you'd be disappointed. ATB Mike |

Got an x flite, managed to get it last year at £175 after shopping around, has both 1.5 and 2.0 top sections plus the 2/4/6 oz quivers...
Used it for feeder work on the trent and severn, method feeder in carp lakes and on rivers like the Bristol Avon.... Has stood up to all that abuse and more, big heavy feeders dodgy tip wrapping casts with heavy weights,Can't knock it myself, even managed to break the top 4 inches of the 1.5 section twice, only realised after opening up my quiver sleeve at home so think i did it during transport, had it repaired first time no probs, only just sent it off second time..... Might not be the best endorsment but its an honest one... Even if a heavy handed nutter like me has managed to smash it in a bag during transport, they've repaired it...... And I've landed some massive lumps on it and pulled out of some big snags, top rod for me,though the BFW rods and harrisons are worth a look, depending on guarantee and cost comparison for spec... |

I have an x-flite and although fairly new to Barbel fishing its a lovely rod. And like whats said before give you so much confidence. Even managed a PB Snag on
it as well.
Very powerfull yet not crude!

I have a couple of xflites, bit unfair to compare them to ipowers etc.Firstly, you can pick them up new for about £145,shop around.
pros-versatile,two tops 1.5/2lb t.c,and a quiver section.Covers all but big river flood fishing.Great for tenching, breaming etc. A great backbone, loads of power to cope with big fish.Plenty of action to enjoy the fight. lifetime guarantee cons-Heavy,not a rod to be holding all day. Single support rod rings, with all the care in the world it is hard not to bend them, ultimately weakening them. When i can afford to i will be buying an ipower or two,the lads that have them rave about them.My xflites have served me well and i have enjoyed them, they'll get an outing for a bit of close season tenching. mike

Why not a freespirit rod just to mix it up a bit. I think harrison blanks are to thick in the but for my likeing but im just a tackle tart

Had a Greys once... found it top heavy and unresponsive....gave it away to my Fiance'.....who stood on it and broke a section...easily replaced by greys
for £25 though......I Now have an i-power and an Image multi spec..both Harrisons blanks....a million miles different.....Buy a harrisons based rod.....you
will never regret it....
