Landing net handle problams |
Lead | |
|
I use the green drennan landing net head 22inch with the dropped front. My problem is trying to find a decent handle to go with it. I've been using a
telescopic landing net handle the carbon variety better suited to pole fishing because I want the reach for getting over bankside vegetation. The heads keep
pulling off though, so I'm looking for a long, strong handle that isn't too heavy.
Any suggestions please? |

Do you mean the ferrule keeps coming off the end of the handle? if so, drill a hole through the ferrule and the handle and slip a small bolt through, job done!
Wensum..........lose some!

gabby, do you mean the one that you twist to extend it?
I looked at it in the shop as it's the super specialist head that I've got, it didn't look very strong in the shop, I'll have another look at one if you are convinced they are strong enough! I did think about putting a bolt through mine but it's only a cheap one and I don't think it will last that much longer to be honest, thanks for the idea though. |

Also recommend the Drennan Super Specialist, had fish upto 10Lb lifted out the water, can extend 3 metres or something crazy like that without snags, can be
adjusted in seconds to suit all bank situations and is ultra light....
Much prefer it to a more cumbersome telescopic one,no shipping of sections, its just twist and go.... |

Agree with Gabby Super specialist is excellent. I had 20+ pike on the end when extended. no problems at all. Just be careful to only extend to the safety
marks. I didn't notice them when I first used it, and snapped the inner pole right when the locking mechanism was..luckily an easy fix. highly
recommended mate

If you can break a super specialist handle in normal use mate you have done damn well!!
I have had carp to near on 40lb in mine and not had a sniff of a problem with it, other than my twist and lock mechanism works in the reverse to the sticker on it |

other than my twist and lock mechanism works in the reverse to the sticker on it I found that incredibly good fun as well Mark......nothing like nearly 3m of carbon pole thats locked solid at 02.30am and wont return to its smaller size
with a 70 mile trip home and work at 0600am !! |

I've had the same problem. But now I remember to twist the inner section in the direction of the arrows and not the outer. But like you I've found that
when it dose lock up I can never release it by my self so I have to drive home and get my Son to help.
