hi all,going to have my first trip on t trent ever sat,looking forward to it,hopefully get acple of whiskers.hows it fishing?will post to let know how we get
on,thats if toker doesnt take best pegs

if your getting smashed off so often on 15lb braid its either rotten or your clutch isnt set correctly good to hear there coming on the feed though might think
about having a session myself.

Whiskerton - Is that the one situated right on the river?
By the way looking on google earth I can't find tree that apparently is famous as someone once hanged themselves from is it 'Hangman's Tree' or something like that. Has it been cut down? If so does anyone know where I can find the stretch as never been there but was always told to look for the tree, and now no tree? |

No need to phone Bill at Trent Meadows, just turn up and fish. He might be wary if you were thinking of asking him if you could take a caravan down there
though. Somebody did once and held a party on the bank, lit a bonfire, then invited a few friends down, got blind drunk, then ran amok with a chainsaw in the
middle of the night before trying to ride one of the heffers. What made it worse was that they had young children with them. I've never seen anything like
it before and I hope I never will again.

It seems to have that effect on people,does the tidal.If any of the high profile inmates of Rampton made good their escape,and happened to stumble upon some
of the characters that roam the banks of,the tidal.They'd run back to Rampton,begging to be let back in.

I fished one of the pegs in the 50s today. I didn't realise it had been declared un-trendy and old hat, it merely looked the most promising place for a
casual first session of the season. I got up shamefully late, then had to turn back to get my rod pod after going a couple of miles down the road, so after
looking at several possible swims it was at least 11:30am before I was fishing. I never take the first trip of the season too seriously, because it nearly
always turns into a disaster.
I somehow got the idea into my head that I might have a chance of a carp today, as I have sometimes been quite successful at getting them out in the daytime by fishing very close in. Because of this, I always fish with a 12 pound Sensor main line and a 12 pound Double Strength hook link. Believe me, the Drennan link will snap first. I fished about six hours and didn't get a knock of any description, although this was self inflicted, because I don't like using the caster and feeder that usually gets a few of the smaller fish. In retrospect I should have fished the first swim that I had in mind, where I have rarely failed in the daytime. I didn't think the river looked particularly clear; it had a dark look rather than coloured and I couldn't see very far into it. Even so, I think a little bit of extra water would help, but I think it will fish far better at night time for people like me, who prefer to fish with gear that gets them in before they are knackered. At least I got to the half way point of Ginger Geezer, the Vivian Stanshall autobiography.

hi there Baldbarbellad.. not many reports goin on is there.....
not sure when i,m gonna get on the tidal again.,. hopefully pretty soon or maybe even try a slower water... bit more relaxin lol.. Anyway hope u have a good session on the 7 at weekend... i,m sure u will.. catch ya l8r BBL.
