Does anyone have any preference to what Boilies are best for Barbel? Anyone tried the Spicy Chicken, used them myself only caught Chub but heard they are good
for Barbel, anyone have any opinions on them?

Hi Ricky,
I too have only caught chub on these boillies and I have tried for 2 years to catch barbel on them I much prefer shellfish flavour boillies for barbel. Rich
It's funny how we don't sell guns but Toronto bangs! |

don't like using boilies at all. Have got some crab and crayfish boilies and they do stink quite a bit but i can't buy a barbel on them.

I think the effectiveness of different boilies depends on the river and what perhaps local anglers use most.Personally I have caught many barbel on spicy
chicken boilies aswell as chub, bream and carp. However having tried most flavours I can safely say that source boilies outfish all the others I try every
time. The carp will take them sometimes but the bream don't like them. However the barbel and chub go absolutely crazy for them. They are also very productive
in flood conditions probably because of their strong smell.

Ricky source is actually the name of the boilie and not the brand.Hence all source boilies are the same flavour. They have a sort of bovril mixed with pepparami
smell and are red.I think you can get them either in 10, 15 or 18mm but I always use the 15mm one's.

As I remember, I think I bought about six kilos from the Bait and feed company, there telephone number is 01920 438338. Scopex Squid liver is well worth a
try.

The source for me gulged in the source liquid was the only thing i could catch on last winter.i noticed this year on the gravel lots of 10-15mm Red water
snails (they look like 15mm source bollies)maybe why i had some success.

And maybe if you used a "red watersnail" they'd take it thinking it's a Source boilie??

I make all my own boilies! I do this by finding a bait that is recognised by the fish on the water im about to fish such as hemp, it would then be soaked (not
boiled) mashed... and then added to the boilie base mix with hemp extract on other feeding activators! Its then rolled into high leakage shapes and boiled! Ive
also developed halibut boilies that dont wash out as quickly as pellets but i prize this recipe
