Hi all, just to let any N.N.A.C. members know that the E.A. will be doing their annual electrofish at turvey on tuesday 1st july. They usually net off from the top hole down to the barbed wire so anyone making a special trip would be best advised to drop down towards the high bank in the top field or from the stile swim down towards the bottom boundary. regards, Jon.

River still at normal levels with very little colour and in very bright sunshine so all in all well chuffed. regards Haydn

If so very well done, was a corker. I fished for a few hours, had one bite but it bust my rod in the middle section, I guess the quiver tip wasn't pushed in properly - next time I'll just use the straight tip, not like you could miss the bite. Ill sent the broken bit back to Greys tomorrow to get it replaced. stumpyb - I fish at Gt Barford reasonably often, the other side of the bridge downstream of the LAA section in the 'free' section, never heard of a Barbel from there, really good bream, odd big carp, eels and the usual river fish, its really weedy in the summer - really wide, slow, bottoms mostly cabbage and streamer weed (and not to mention its navigable which generally means lots of boats this time of year). Personally I think you will be much, much better off going to Kings Weir. John.

Sure, there are places further down with Barbel, but they're few and far between, and you'll probably spend most of your time wiping Bream slime off your line!

I have not had any luck there yet. I would like to expand the club tickets i have to give me various options on where to go. Can anyone give me some recommendations bearing in mind i live in northamptona and due to work can often only get hour for short sessions in the evening.

There are several other clubs as well, Milton Keynes AC may be worth looking at as they will have venues closer to Northampton. Short 3 hour session for me and blanked, water seemed to have a bit of a tinge to it !!! and did have a bit of @%*! coming down in the flow. Incidently this fish that Richard caught took an absolute age to recover, although the gills were going strong it kept turning belly up.................. this the result of post spawning activity ? Any comment welcome guys as Richard was puzzled as well as me !! Good luck to all who venture out this weekend..............................
