Splendid stuff on BBC2 just now - The Verve ripping the normally dead, last night of Glastonbury completely apart.

Didn't see the Verve but Jayzee was mint on Saturday night (at least what was shown on the telly). What a way to shut Noel Gallagaher up by opening the set
with Wonderwall.

Jayzee was mint?Oh yeah right. | ||

Jayzee wasn't mint he was a joke and his decision to introduce his set with Wonderwall showed us two things.First he can't sing and secondly his ego is
so big he can't take criticism without having the last say.Noel was right to criticise the decision for him to headline Glastonbury.Hiphop has its place
but it is not in Glastonbury.Doing a cover of a classic song like Wonderwall to make a point was immature and offensive and every person I know say the same
thing.Bang out of order!!!
The Verve were good but I much prefer Richard Ashcroft after the split. |

Jay-Z wasn't even any good at talking, never mind his nursery school attempts at making little rhymes.
The Verve were the equivalent of listening to a kid squealing in a supermarket, only far more monotonous. A Band Of Horses were quite good though.

Hmmm,
Fear of a Black Planet, what an album, a defining moment in music, (so ok we had Grandmaster Flash, Sugar Hill Gang, ((white man's rap?)), Afrika Bambaataa, et al), but PE, different class. Ian PS - Les, shame on you fella , not a proper Manc band are they, unlike
those fine chaps from Salford, Joy Division, (well Hooky and Bernard anyway).

and Wilmslow rd were serenaded

Hi men ,
Glasto looked good this year , bar the bloody awful Jay z, or what ever you call that shouting noise . Verve were good , and it makes a change that the Sunday slot gets a good
finish. Wombats , enemy , vampire weekend , and Duffy , who proved above all else , she can sing , wonder if Amy Winealot was watching her set![]() ![]() ![]() . Elbow were good , and I wondered how they would do thier traks with the big
strings , easy , they had a large string section on the stage .
Im with Noel , men with guitars play the main slot. I had a couple of mates there , and at the start of Jays 3 rd track large amount of the crowd started to wander off to the other stages . Hatter |

Just thought I'd drop in to say Jay Z was incredible. The Verve were so dull in comparison. A few good songs do not equal a good set. I love rock and heavy metal music but Jay Z won the battle this year. A sensational display of talent. No band or guitar to hide behind. Incredible stuff. It's not 'nursery' rhyme stuff. If it was we would all be globally known millionares.
