Shame the old Brotel is no longer made, mine still going strong but there seems to be little in the way of possible replacements out there.Ideally it would be
a smaller version of the Fox Evolution or Angling Intelligence airframe brolly.

Likewise, I have the same Steadfast Brolly as above (davhall and friend ) Purchased in 1986 from a now defunct wholesale supplier that I had the good fortune
to know well. It has been used for beach fishing, every winter since then, and anybody who beachcasts in the depths of winter will know how much the brollys
suffer, being sandblasted, buried under dunes, having 6oz of flying lead bounce off them from the idiot in the next peg, getting toasted from parrafin lamps
etc etc..... anyhow, it is still going strong, although Iadmit that the pin "oles in it are getting larger, they have been glued up a few times allready.
For Freshwater work I have an unbranded nylon brolly given to me by a friend that packed in after a few poor seasons, it seems to do the trick, so long as you keep them serviced with a shot of WD40 on all moving (rusting ) parts. |

Korum agents...where are they when you need some feedback. | ||
|
Dear ALL......
Three pages of brolly posts...some saying good stuff, some saying fix you own rubbish purchase and some saying bad brolly's. Where's the Korum sponsor guys when you need them in defence of their pushed products......nowhere to be seen.....poor product defending if you ask me.......maybe the one in particular, old ponsy, is out catching none licenced anglers or securing another sponsorship deal with another company....
Aqua for me.....buy English and get quality.....so good I got two......

So where does one get an aqua brolly ???

surely if a product doesn't do what its supposed to you simply return it for a replacement or refund ? im sure most reps value their firms
reputation more than the cost price of a brolly, thats my experience anyway and i wouldn't settle for anything less providing it was bought from a
reputable outlet

thought aqua were having trouble sourcing materials at the moment? You can find them through Google.
I got a brand new Wavelock (british made) off of ebay for £30. On the heavy side, but hard wearing and the 50" covers me and my gear with ease. I'm sure it will outlive the modest outlay and when it busts (after, I hope, a long old time) I will get another one. I hate fishing under a brolly. So when I buy one I want it to be relatively cheap, and tough. I don't really mind if it isn't the lightest because I only carry one when bad weather is a cert. Otherwise it is a Poncho for me. Or, luxury 5 star accomodation, a drab green golf umbrella. |

Why not use a normal golf brolly, as barbel will think you are a golfer...

Rich,
Reserve judgement on them so far but they are quite light. If the lever mechanism they have, rather than the traditional screw, holds up then I'd definitely recommend them. Cheers Mike |

I bought the 60 inch aqua,a couple of years ago,and in my humble opinion is the best ive ever seen,a real quality product.Just a little heavy and large for
short sessions imo

Recently bought the 50 inch Waterline Fiberlite 2. First impressions are good, its light and has vents/second skin on the top to allow the wind to pass through
the brolly.
Only downside is its grey (apparently to match the sky so the fish can't see the brolly )
Time will tell if it lasts. Gavin |

I can't believe you guys are actually kidding yourselves thinking the aqua is 100% made in the UK, assembled maybe, they are out of stock awaiting frames,
I would hazard a pretty big guess that those frames are coming from China!!!!! If they had a local British maker they would have been trickling through in
weeks rather than having to wait months for the next container load................they will probably be the same frames, made in the same factory as most
other manufacturers!!!!!!

Ian. Just been on the phone to aqua ,asking about a replacement for my 50 inch korum, and asked where they source the frames from.
They told me the uk,but at the moment they are still looking for a reliable uk supplier of quality 50inch frames, and are struggling to do so. But at £170 for a 50 inch brolly, think ill be looking for a cheaper version howard |

Dear Chris.......
Hope the session went well..........you was camping then. Price.....what price reliable gear in conditions that sort out other inferior products.......sense and sensibility in me acquiring two Aqua's then.......mine are awesome and do the job absolutely 100% brilliantly when called into action. Mind you.....Korum do some nice gear.....the luggage is very good and well priced.......I'm probably a bigger advertisment for Korum when I am out fishing than old Ponsy.......so it's not all knocking.
Yours With Respect...... Steve Keep enjoying it Chris........ |

Hi Steve,(Eelfisher)
Proper camping, which is really not my game, however the company was great, the weather ok,and with 306 pegs on Collingham ,plenty to go at. It really is an awesome river, right up my street, and there is so much to go at as well you know. Wished I lived closer, but fuel costs are really biting on all of us. Apart from a small club match on sunday,it was all bivvy city, mostly barbel anglers, loads of them. Still we got everything we required ,so was a great success. Now we are straight into the next project. Best regards, your mate ,the Fat Midlander . Pons |
