I fish a stretch of the Trent that has heavy boat traffic. Now I wouldn't say I have my rod in the air beachcatser stylie but do have the tip raised and in
doing so have to watch out for boats and quickly dip the rod tip under the water as not for the line to be caught by the boat and potentially lose 50-70yrds of
line and all terminal tackle. Now I have the rod tip raised due to the flow of the river. Is there any way I can have my rod tip lower to the surface so I
don't have to worry about boat traffic as much or is it just one of those things and all part of the "fun" of river fishing?
Another quick question on similar lines is, what is the best action to take when playing a fish and a boat comes along, as yet it hasn't happened but sure as eggs are eggs it will sooner or later.
Sorry if these are basic questions but I've only been into my barbel fishing a year or so, so still learning.
Thanks,
Rams.
