Millie,
That would be because Ian was referring to Tommy's question about Sandford Mill which is Twyford and District Fishing Club where Ian has already posted advice.

Had a very pleasing start to the season on Sunday afternoon. Three beauties of 4lbs.13oz, 6lbs.6oz and 10lbs.13oz, also lost one in snags. All fought like
demons. Some nice roach too, taken on legered flake (big pike snatching one). Would be great if it continues like this - good luck all.

Your're leading my son astray putting ideas into his head!
He doesn't need to tie my shoelaces together to beat me to the swims! I'm usually totally loaded down with both lots of gear, plus a mountain of food and I'm lucky if he carrys the landing net head.

Gavin,
I wonder where Thomas gets the "turn up empty handed and use all the gear that someone else has brought" mindset from??

Had some great fishing recently as I have had 2 weeks off as between jobs and was determined to make the most of it and try and get myself a double in the
third season of trying on the loddon.
A couple of sessions this week: An overnighter on Monday produced 11 chub with 3 over 5lb, and 2 barbel of 5lb and 6lb. Lost a biggie that I could do nothing with, gutted when the line parted on a snag as it charged downstream. Spent Tuesday day long trotting and had some nice roach and nicer dace, and caught a pike which had been trying to snaffle everything I returned at my feet on a worm! Last night's session my first cast produced my first ever double at 11lb 8oz. Great fight and brilliant to catch it in bright sunlight to see it flashing through the water. Thankfully I didn't realise it was quite as big as it was til it was in the net or I would have fluffed it most likely. After spending so many hours on the bank to get it after 5 mins of being there made me laugh, but a bit of acquired knowledge certainly helped. Had another couple through the night of 7lb 12oz and 7lb 8oz along with 8 chub to 5lb 7oz, again 3 over 5lb. Also lost what looked like another double at the net when it decided it didn't fancy going in after all and charged off into a sunken tree 2 in one day would have been greedy so still absolutely delighted
cheers, simon |

Another hard day for us both today, fished from 1.pm till 10.30 pm for not a touch to either of us, it would seem that Phil Adams is the only one catching or
so i am told
Always nice to be on the beautiful river though, plenty of wildlife to view and birdsong to listen to if only the barbel would play ball, roll on next weekend.. Best Barbel John Look ye also while life lasts. |

Managed a 6lber in the morning yesterday which was pleasing given it was the only bite I had from 7am to 2pm.
Crooky did a great job of baby sitting Thomas (big mistake picking a swim big enough for two to fish in ).
Mind you not sure about the casting tuition....... "Let me cast it for you Thomas".... 3 casts into the trees and one new hook length later Thomas took his rod back
