Adams that is really freaky wot time did you get your fish? Two sets of fish from the same river with the same wait coming out on opening day madness!! Managed another yesterday evening too of 8lb 10oz so all in allwell chuffed with the start of the seaon as someone else said I hope that not my fill for the season!! well done to all that managed a few fish! How wrong I was.. Spent this evening on the Ouse and managed an Eel.. Another song - `things can only get better' (can't they?)

I will be fishing the vauxhall waters so will be probably bumping into a few of you and thought it about time I introduced myself. Fished the first day and blanked with just about everybody else it seems. Out on friday night and hopeing for better luck. Best wished to everyone else fishing the ouse this year.

Had been prebaiting the swim for over a month on pellets and hemp before the season started.. Hooked the first about 3 hours into the session and the second just as the light was turning and nothing more in daylight hours. Fished the same swims again on Weds evening and took another fish that went 8lb 3oz.and again this was after dark. All these fish caught on hair rigged hinders pellet. I fished again last night,but moved swims and area in order to rest the swims and not to spook the fish.......guess what? not a bite or knock during the evening,but some indications on the tips after dark.But no rod bending bites.... Aint able to get out for a few nights/days now so tight lines to all that get out. Adam

Fished 6pm till midnight n caught 1xchub, 1xbream and an 18lb 12oz common all from a good flow!! Thought i'd hooked the biggest barbel in the whole damn ouse!! Kipped in the car, woke at 5 after the 3 hour thunder storm had another bash and caught no more but my bro had a 8lb 8oz barb at 6.30 this morning being his first ouse barbel on only his 2nd visit!!! Your Signature ...BROWNS FOR TACKLE.

Won't be on the Ouse for the next month, heading for Dorset next weekend to fish the Avon and Stour, good luck to all the Ouse anglers. Regards Phil

I'm a local (Bedford), and a regular on the usual venues. First session of the season on the river yesterday evening, fished a swim that produced lots of Barbel for me in Summer 2006, but hardly anything after the floods of last year. Only a short session, 8.30 - 10.30, was just about to call it a night when the rod slammed round resulting in a beautiful Barbel of 11:6. Always good to get the first one of the season in the bag! The river is in a similar state to last week - around 6 inches above what I would call "normal" summer level (if such a concept exists any more!), and fairly clear. No fish yet although did have a wrap around last nite but struck into F**k all LOL ! As Wibbs said river is up a little, no colour to it though. Had a walk down the Turvey stretch Sunday a short distance, Wife and outlaws were left at Ye Three Fyshes and I went for a short ramble............. looks a very nice bit of river !!
