Would get the old ticker going if you hooked one

Could they spawn in British conditions ? I personally think escapee Carp are more of a problem nationwide ! Paul M........... |

The have been in the lower great Ouse for at least twenty years, and I bet that you would struggle to find anyone that has caught one.
I dont think that they either spawn successfully or recruit in any numbers to be a problem. |

I have certainly had huge fish thrashing around in front of me at night, on the Trent Meadows stretch at Collingham. It always coincided with high tide in the
early hours of the morning and one of my theories was that this might have been when the lampreys were migrating up river and the catfish were grabbing them
near the surface. If catfish were responsible, there was certainly more than just one of them.
English as tuppence, changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss
Havishambling, hermit-crab, tight-fist, eremite, feudal still, reactionary Rawlinson End.
