Fished from 9.30pm - 11am this morning. Up from Shrewsbury, river incredibly low, very brown still although starting to clear, think it is the dying algae
bloom. One dace and one tiny chub, on Maggot rod. nothing on the pellet rod at all, one tiny knock. A companion had several tentative knocks on pellet but no
real decent bites to hit.
River is in need of some fresh water I think. Heard a badger screaming at 1.30am and it sounded like a banshee, never heard anything like that before scared the livin $$** out of me!!!!!! |

The Lower Severn isn't easy anywhere mate! If you've been having success at Lower Lode, then I'd persevere there - there are probably some whoppers
about there I reckon.
BAA have lots of water below Worcester - popular places include Severn Stoke and Birds Meadow (near Ripple) which are fished more regularly and you'll probably catch a few there with usual tactics. The river is very low and needs freshening up at the moment. Failing that, get on the Teme or further up the Severn where there are more Barbel. The Teme is one of the prettiest rivers in the country I reckon (cue the Hampshire Avon thread reaction |

Fished the lower today between 11am and 7:30pm.
One rod out with pellets (of varying variety) and paste etc and didn't get so much as a line bite....... The feeder rod on the other hand, with maggots got plenty of bites from bream though (managed to drop on a shoal of them). River looking very brown and is in obvious need of a good flush through. Bring on the rain! ATB Mark Never give up - There's always tomorrow! |

River rose about one inch this morning between 8-11, we need some serious rain to have any impact ,lets just hope its peeing down in those Welsh hills.

Went out with Martyn and i managed to catch 7 Eels and 6 Bream and a couple of Chub from Ironbridge?
Never had Bream from that part of the Severn before, and has anyone else noted the sudden influx of Eels? |

Cooper - Yep, As well as a load of bream that I had yesterday I must have had about 9 eels ranging from bootlace ones up to ones of about half a pound or so.

5goldstars,
Only saw the river quickly this morning, around Shrewsbury, didn't take temp, still 16.2 yesterday, river looked about the same, low, needs a bit of water me thinks, very light showers today , bit heavier this eve. Hopefully we get a bit of fresh water in the river.

Any of the BAA stretches are worth looking at.
Knowle Sands and Danery are good one's. Hampton Loade also possibly worth a visit. Kinvers stretch is dayticket on the bank. You could also go into (or ring) Bridgnorth Tackle and speak to Gaffer, Rosa or Carroll. There are a number of stretches that they sell tickets for, Apley water/Bridgnorth AS "Golf coarse" etc, but I have a feeling they are restricted to mid week only. Steve |
