Just have to suck it and see I suppose!? If I struggle to catch during the say with Chris, I might try a few nights Hampton Court way. |

Hello all, new member here, good luck wherever you go and lets hope you don't catch too many of those pesky carp!
Looking forward to trying some thames barbelling for the first time. |

River does indeed look in good nick. It's lost 2ft over the last 48hrs. Light showers only please for the next three days....... Re the previous posts about catching in daylight against night time. For me it's a general confidence thing, ie, most feel that dusk/dark is the best time. Some of the lads have had some great day time catches all the way through our river.
"A mound of earth on Walton Breck Road was created for the growing numbers of fans to watch the team. It was called the 'Spion Kop' after a
battle in the Boer War six years earlier. It was not the only Kop - low hill in Afrikaans - nor the first. But it would become the greatest......."

Getting very close now , can,t wait. Daytime, nightime, each of us have our own preference, I have always found days to be the best by a big margin, as Lawman
said, its a confidence thing, if you are fishing it in the right way, in the right place, then you should be able to catch, at anytime. If you never fish days,
try it , you just might be surprised, but do open your mind to presentation, these fish can be easily spooked, especially in low/clear water conditions!

I hope that the person who prebaited with 8K of various Baitwarehouse products at Walton today and then dumped the bags on the bank reads the carp forums not
these! TAKE YOUR LITTER HOME - why should I have to do it for you. Is it any wonder the antis are after banning what we love to do.
Tight lines and good luck to everyone Geoff |

Geoff, I hope that the culprit sees your post and realises the error of their ways. That's just a damned shame! As for prebaiting with 8 kilos, it would be
a choker if someone was sitting in the swim when they showed up to fish, don't you think?

Almost definately a carper, its the way most of em fish that place, pile it in and wait or the bream to attract the carp, either way theres no excuse for
leaving litter as theres plenty of rubbish bins and if not the ever present black back outta yer carrying bag, have a great star to the season guys, the rivers
are in great nick...j.w

Have seen a couple of carpers at Sunbury putting a ton of bait in yesterday. Won't be fishing there for a few days, the fish will be full me thinks.

Makes you laugh don't you think, if they are going to pre-bait with a load of gear, at the very least remove the evidence so no one knows where it has gone
in and what feed they are using, I mean this is fairly basic stuff !!! They obviously need a session with us secret squirrel Barbel boys !
Just getting the last of me gear sorted for the first night session, river looks mint, let's hope them Beards co-operate. I am sure the Bream, and Carp ? Will be up for it though ! Will just be nice to get out on the Thames again. Have a good one ! J

Had a few hours this evening, all fairly quiet, just a few knocks, even the snottys were quiet, I don't think the Thames is quite on form at the moment to
be honest. Anyway, Just as the light was going I managed a sneaky, perfectly mint 7 pounde Whisker which made me smile. Capped off a fantastic June 16th for me
really, added to the 2 Barbel last night/this morning and the other fish, and just the day overall fishing with me mates it has been mint and one to remember.
Now I have had a couple today, and with some time to give it a go this week, I am going to try some of me new bits that I have been checking out over the close season, if anything to get away form the madding crowd and have some peace and quiet.... J

Good fishing Jutt.
I started on the Blackwater as i thought it would offer more chance of a fish......it did, a bloody Brown Trout on boilies!!! Reading the other boards, it appears that most rivers have had a slow start. Good to be out though............... Steve |

Hello all, Firstly best of luck for the new
season. Even though the Thames is my local river I don't get to fish it much but this year I'm going to make the effort. I used to fish Hampton Court,
Walton, Richmond , Desbourgh etc quite a lot.

Thats very interesting Michael, thanks for sharing. I am not sure how far down it would be classed as brackish so a full tidal Barbel there is amazing.
I work right next to St Katherines dock which is just below Tower Bridge and have seen a few Carp cruising around plus a big shoal of Bream. It is unfishable as the owners of some very large boats may not be impressed but still good to see this far down. From what I understand the docks below here are club controlled but fishable. Dave
