whiskerton , well done , as there isnt a thread for the south yorks Rother , big congrats , I on the other hand are trying to get Barbel from the three main
south yorks rivers this year , starting with the Dearne , Don then Rother.
I will settle for one from each , not bothered about the size, tried the Don on saturday morning and sunday morning in that wretched wind , never had a bite. Would you consider publishing the rother Barbel if you have a suitable photo ..? big well done Barnsley andy |

Another venture to the Rother, lost a good fish early on.Nothing else to report, apart from the glorious sunshine and the fantastic array of bird life, terns, jays
to name but a few.I don't think the yoof cared for their beauty as he puffed on his spliff and took pot shots at them.Ironic, really, that the decimation of
the local collieries helped to create this now idyllic haven for wildlife, unfortunately their demise also helped to shape the skunk smoking marksman.

Andy leave the Don till late Autumn and Winter, it runs warmer than the spate rivers and
I've found it productive towards the back end. The Rother is an interesting propersition, did anyone read the article in the Angling Star the other week? |

Evening, bnud.I did read the article.Hats off to the catcliffe and treeton anglers for their regeneration of this once forgotten don tributary.Probably not
going to fish their water much but i couldn't think of a more genuine benificiary of the £10 annual subs.

most parts of the river in doncaster are free. just follow the signs for doncaster prison and young offenders. as you come off of the main round about you can
either turn left towards the shops, drive around the back and there is a small car park or park in the gate on the right and walk up the flood bank. never had
any trouble with my car. or, head for the prison and park in the prison car park( safest parking ever
cctv everywhere!) all the water on both banks below the salmon run and sluice is
free, above it is doncaster aa water. 3 quid for day i think

Fished the prison stretch this morning and had one about 7lb but was a really lean fish. Would make a good un when it puts a bit of weight back on. Lost
another in weed but had quite a few liners.
