and pretty clear and i could see the bottom in some places! anyway you will enjoy the stretch from stanley down to berts, i opened my account on 16th last year
on berts in the flood and had a hectic session,,i,l be there this monday aswell as i have a cottage on stanley stretch for a week. say hello if ya see
me(little scouser)
with my son in tow!!!if not good luck cos it wont be
as easy as last year with the flood water unless it starts raining and doesn,t stop!,,,warren SCUBAsteve! hows it goin m8? hope all is well! where u
focusing ur attention this season m8? teme again? i was down the teme checkin a stretch out the other day, looked tops and fed a shoal of big chub and watched
as the barbs muscled them out better than any dvd i ever seen, never

They got the webcam working but forgot to point it at the river!!
Seriously low isn't it, what a contrast to last year. I watched some barbel flashing on gravels below Shrewsbury last Friday, will be going for another look this Friday. May take waders for some upclose looks, also handy for shifting some snags that are visible now, one in particular lost me a decent chub last winter.
Old enough to know better....young enough not to care!

Its a shame the temperture is dropping, you cant beat night fishing on those warm barmy nights.

Pritch, I prefer the balmy ones mate as the barmy ones usually involve a load of (hard of hearing - based on how loud they talk) blokes with flashlights, beer
cans and barbeque turning up about midnight, making a right old racket and deciding to fish bang opposite me. On one such occasion they debated for about 15
minutes, before I turned my head torch on, whether or not there was someone fishing on the other bank - despite me casting twice during that time. What really
drives me barmy though is when they play music and I do rather wonder why they insist in talking with such a weird accent...
Anyways - regarding the weather, a mate of mine mentioned the rain was coming but it's not showing in sufficient quantities to do much based on the forecats I've seen - at least not for the start. From speaking to Tom Rigby it sounds like there's a algae bloom in full swing, which taints the water, so a good flush through could be just what it needs - just not like in the epic proportions we saw last year. My best overnight session on the middle was a balmy night, albeit with a bit of warm drizzle, early on in the season with the river falling rapidly - fortunately the party did not turn up on the opposite bank either, which is always a bonus. I love those kind of nights. ATB Mike |

Crossed the upper Severn yesterday afternoon, and boy she's looking low.
I'd be happy to see a few days of the wet stuff, regardless of how it will affect the fishing, as the river need it. Steve |

Ive already found my peg for Sunday night and have made sure that it cant be fished from the opposite bank for the reasons stated above. One more working day to go,bring it on:) |
