The moon phase is also spot on! 16th falls just after the full moon i believe so will be in the first quarter which according to a good friend of mine, is very good news! All best. Rob |

Good Luck everyone for the coming season,
Work restraints mean fishing will be at a premium for a while after the opening but doesn't bother me too much as the Avon won't get much attention off me till the winter this year. On a less positive note, I went for lunch with the good lady today to the Fish and Anchor at Offenham. As usual the owner of Anchor meadow on the opposite bank was allowing out of season fishing in the weir and run off with several pegs being occupied  !! Was duly reported to the EA but don't know if anything
will be done as he allows all year fishing every year and nothing is ever done about it

Just went past it (Fish & Anchor) about 5 mins ago dropping my daughter back to her Mum's and nobody was fishing that stretch.
Must have packed up and gone home... Come to mention it, I've been 'Mr Eagle Eyes' all closed season and haven't come across one person fishing the WAvon. Must need some new specs lol Never give up - There's always tomorrow! |

River around Evesham was low and chocolate in colour on Sunday after recent flooding. If this weather continues (very hot) the river will be low and clear by
Monday I reckon.

A few pre-season walks along the river reveal far greater weed growth than last year, the whole feel of the river is more lush and less scoured-out. Not
surprising seeing as the seasons seem to have got themselves back into order.

On the topic of Anchor Meadow. What do people think of this stretch? i Went once in the summer and got the feeling the old boy owner was a bit of a bull s**t
artist. So is it worth returning here? i know Manor Farm is close to that stretch? is that any good? are there any other reccommended stretches in the area?

Yes your right there!! I belong to a club thats has the oppersite bank about a mile down stream of the weir,got around 3/4 of a mile to fish with the bonus of
fishing Norton bend
.
