Has anyone been down for a look yet? Every time I've fancied a visit I've either been scuppered by being given jobs to do, or the river has been
carrying a bit too much colour to make it worthwhile.

When I crossed Doveridge Bridge last week it looked bang on.
This rain will freshen it up a bit. Perhaps we could do with a bit more next week. Think I'm going to start off on the Upper Trent tho. Bill |

......... the river is at normal summer level and falling!!
Forecast for next 10 days is warm and bright so forget all about the flood conditions of last year - it looks like it's goin' be low 'n' clear

River looked brilliant over the weekend. Huge shoals of bream, chub and barbel showing and all readily taking free offerings. Can't wait now!!

hi people,
4 anyone interested ,rivers very low ,fair bit of weed coming down,lot of barbel on the shallows,but methinks they are there to spawn not to feed,tight lines to all 4 the season,regards jim |

Fished first day of the season, had four barbs to a best of 10lb 5oz, but river running very low and clear and had to find the barbel. I will reiterate Jims
thoughts, there were alot of fish showing but at the same time alot of spawning activity was taking place which made it hard.

Hi all, had a session down tues fished 3 swims before having my first Dove fish at 10lb 10. Followed by a 11.4, and 11.8. Best start i've had on pellets
and boile. ATB. Gary.

Maybe later on in the season.stick with the Dove for a while. Had 6hrs today had 2 barbs 9.8. And 9.0 pellet and boilie. Tight lines .

Opened my season's account tonight - an 8.4 on pellet and a 9.7 river pb on Boilie. The river was alive tonight with fish topping and jumping - in stark
contrast to last Monday - and not a sole on the banks ...

Hi Warren - yep same place - downstream section. River looked in good nick and barbel even more so. Lot's more streamer weed than last year and fish
fairly elusive in the bright daytime conditions. Here's a piccy

Any of you chaps with multiple captures of want to share any secrets? It's a rare session for me when i manage to bank more than 1 fish. Not that i mind just the one fish of course, its a lot better than a blank! |
