A new fisher here too. I will be fishing around the Milton Keynes area this summer, my friend Simone and her boyfriend show me some good spots, and I tell you
it is good for girls to catch fish too.
Anyway i hope to see some of you around the river with Simone this summer. Angie |

Hi Angie,
Welcome aboard,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I think Simone normally goes about her business on the river in ''Stealth mode''....................... I for one have never seen her !! Are you still out there Simone ? Have not heard from you lately !!

Welcome Angie | ||

Hi Angie
Welcome to the forum! It makes a nice change to see a member of the fairer sex on this site for a change
I live in Milton Keynes, and have fished the river in the MK area for a number of years. If you need any advice about barbel fishing on the MK stretches of river, I'll be more than happy to help. Tight Lines for the new season ![]() ![]()

Angie,
Just in case your surname is purely coincidental, leave these southern pansie streams alone and come up to Gods County. I'll give you a guided tour of all the best rivers, and watering holes, our fish are lean, mean, fighting machines, for sure. Bnud- Pide Piper of Normy |

Take no notice Angie, you fish our pansie streams................. they are stuffed full of fat, fit, fighting felines
Oh by the way, as you are blonde you will obviously be fair skinned so you cover up and don't get burnt in all that British summer sun !!!!! Watch out for all those camo clad specimen hunters lurking in the bushes, holding rods and ''Stalking''....................................

Pansy Streams? | ||
|
Bnud
Its a known fact that the further north one travels, the more thin on the ground and the more stunted the fish get! Give me a 'pansy stream' 'down souf' any day. This is where the real fish live! ![]() ![]()

I wouldnt bother making the trip if your coming from far away,we have had loads of rain just 'north' of Bedford.....its lashed it down since sunday
morning almost continually,the river is up at least two foot,chocolate brown,you wont see a thing.....when i went for a walk on the areas i fish i watched a
large branch/tree sailing down the river coloured in streamer weed......plenty of other *!+! also coming down,in fact the river looked a picture just wish we
were a month forward as those Ouse barbel will be 'havin it'.

Very coloured and lots of rubbish coming down this morning. With the forecast of more rain I think fish spotting will be very hard for a good few days. Now if
it is like this in a couple of weeks time....

Hi Chris, yes the other chaps are right it`s raging thru and chocy brown due to all this extra water the last few days, it doesnt matter thou as you will
rarely see any fish at turvey as they are all tucked away but we can still go for a walk anyways. Have just returned from the nene where i have just removed a
trap ( guess who! ) and must say it looks spot on for a few this season.
I will text you tmrw and provided nothing goes wrong this end will meet you on fri afternoon. Regards, Jon. |

I'll probably leave it 'til the weekend.. I normally find the 16th a bit disappointing!

I've just started a new job in Bedford with my daily commute taking me down the A6 just past Radwell. I'll probably give the first day a miss and
start my assault on the Tuesday evening.
