River conditions | ||
|
I had a few hours on the Lower Teme today. The water was still coloured but the river looked really well and the last floods had hardly touched the landscape
which makes a change, the place would not need a work party. The banks are dry and sandy and I didn't even look like breaking my neck, which also makes a
change. Put quite a few kilos in over a distance of about a mile so they'll get the taste again without overdoing it. We were pretty sure that the only
fish we saw were Chub, although there just may have been a couple of Barbel amongst them . It was too coloured for spotting, even on relatively shallow areas.
All the fish spotted moved into the areas baited up. Not much fly life about and hardly any rises. It was a sunny day but the wind was a cold north east. John

Info needed please. A mate of mine is staying the weekend in june maybe july at Clifton on teme, and wondered about the fishing locally,is thier a decent head
of barbel in that part of the river,as know nothing about the area.He would really like, fairly safe parking,on a day ticket water, with a reasonable fish stock
to provide some good sport, dont have to be full of whoppers, but the odd one wouldent hurt

BAA, he's slap in the middle of their stretches (refer to a previous post of mine on this thread). Tell him to buy a season ticket, it's only £29. Day tickets are £5 and must be purchased in advance. http://www.baa.uk.com/ It's only a 30 min drive from the most upstream stretch to the most downstream so if one is busy try another. Fish in all. |

Would endorse what Andrew has advised. BAA ticket cracking value. ATB Les

I had a look at the river with "Will" on Wednesday, around Ludlow, and despite the rain we had had over the previous few days the river was in
excellent nick and we spotted plenty of Chub taking Mayfly and one or two Barbel pottering about, some on the feed we had introduced. The next day, after over
night rain the river was coloured, weird, it didn't seem to be up very much but very murky. I had cleared a load of fallen trees out of one peg over a
period of three sessions and everything was looking good, but the wind and rain have brought down a massive willow that has dropped in over the lot. It had
split down the middle so it must have been dodgy but it didn't look it. I think this one is so big it is going to have to be a feature! The last ones were
in about 2 foot of water, this has gone straight across. Oh well!!

Yep, I'll be on the Teme on Sunday afternoon/evening, and staying for a couple of days.
We are away in Mattlock on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but me gear will all be sorted, as as soon as I'm home with the caravan I'll be loading the car and away. Steve |

Hi folks, was doing a bit of bank clearing on our stretch at Tenbury from 5am until 1pm. There were fish everywhere, loads of Chub and Barbel feeding on free
offerings, kicking up the silt. The river was very slightly coloured but you could see the bottom in the shallows. No big fish seen but probably twenty
different fish in five or six different swims. Unfortunately the weather forecast says heavy rain around here for the next couple of days. Roll on! John
