Anyway one thing led to another and I found myself looking at Deep Purple and Rainbow so therefore Richie Blackmore. Got to wondering what he is up to and discovered, for me Blackmore's Night. So off to youtube I went. Have to say that have always liked folky rock such as Steeleye Span and Blackmore's Night nearly follows the same path. So if you like that kind of stuff give it a go. Some of the music was good and Richie's still a very good guitar (and lute!) player. Personally preferred his Purple/early Rainbow days, but there were some very nice Maid Marian look-alikes there

I learned the other week, from my old Ma's two, Nigerian-born, long-British-resident - one of them with a 19-year-old, OMG-lovely and BRIGHT (and then some...), Architecture student at a MAJOR British University - that they also care for the elderly (mid to late eighties) mother (like my own) of a certain 4-string-instrument-playing member (the ladies asked me just who he was) of a big-name late-1960s Rock band... That said I have been to Nigeria and have to say next to South Africa it was one of the nicest places to leave ! Cheers Andy

I saw Rainbow many times but with Ronnie Dio then Graham Bonnet singing. I know Doogie was their vocalist for a while but never saw him. What's he up to these days ?

Never saw rainbow live , saw Dio fronting Black Sabbeth ok , but not a patch on an ozzy performance.
