Looks like you had a lovely day's fishing there....
Fished a lake myself in the early part of the week but just typical that I picked the day that most of the carp decided to spawn! lol roll on the 16th! Never give up - There's always tomorrow! |

Had a dabble at carping myself yesterday and had 1 carp 2 bream and a tench . Now for the first ever i hooked a huge carp under my rod end on the pin , This
was a twenty plus common who made mincemeat of my barbel gear . That was the first encounter ive had with such a big carp and was shown a clean pair of fins .
Further out id have been in with a shout but under my feet next to an over hanging tree it, no chance ! Still was a nice day and as you say a pleasent
distraction may be ill get her next visit

Shame on the lost fish, it happens under the rod tip though. The
biggest of the 2 I caught fought very hard but the other was like a wet rag to be honest, not much of a fight compared to the bigger fish. Under the rod tip it
went crazy and I had to give it line again, by backwinding. No matter how good the reel is in terms of its clutch I still favour backwinding as it is what I
have always done.
I had a few tench midweek myself, biggest about 4.5lbs plus my mate had a 12lb grass carp on crust. Now that was lovely fish. In fact I have a pic.... |

The mirror carp did not originate in the UK they came from Croatia I believe a couple of years back. The grass carp was from a local day ticket water north of
Leeds.

Thats exactly it mate. Regardless of where they might have come from they were still as hard to catch as any other fish. I know some people want only genuine
UK fish and I totally accept that, but for me its nice to get into a few lumps whilst waiting for the rivers to re-open, wherever they may be from in the
world.
