hi,what happens if you hold a glass under the tap with it turned on,quite right it overflows, and any idea why they want to come over here, and not other
countries.

Derek, I think the fact that so many have come over and unemployment has remained static tells its own story. Steve |

hi,there is good and bad in all countrys, but if the situation continues for many years half the countryside will disappeer with all the houses that they are
building, more crime ect,i notice australia wouldnt take them, they have plenty of room.
now here is a good solution, all the m.p.s should give up there posh houses, and take a pay cut at the same time, because none of them earn there money, and the bad imigrants who commit crime should be deported, thats if any of the m.p.s wake up.derek. |

Derek,
It's available jobs not room that is relevant here. Let's also be careful about what we lay on the doorsteps of the EEs - you can hardly blame them for an increase in housebuilding! As for crime, etc the reports are conflicting and a lot of public opinion is unfortunately shaped by the media whose sole criteria is to sell papers - and rape and pillage sells more papers. I don't understand your "solution" although I totally agree that anyone in the UK on a visa who commits a crime should be deported back to their country of origin. Steve |

This thread has leapt on from people fishing in the closed season ! Robbing cash points ,' undesirables ', stealing jobs , migrant workers . I thought
Mr Boote was good at hijacking threads but some of the posts here take the biscuit .

I have seen plenty of anglers fishing the Lower Thames this close season. Some EE's,but plenty of anglers from this country. They plead ignorance of course
when asked,if they are aware of the "rules".If people don't care then no amount of education will change that.Though there are plenty of Lakes
that are open down here,so why fish a river?
I'm not going to get involved with the right's or wrongs of immigration based on jobs ect.But as for Paul Boote,he may ramble and change tack, but I guess he may be a little eccentric? That is a good thing IMO,I enjoy the company of people who are a "little mad".I'm not the full ticket for sure |

Derek , you can talk about the HA as long as you like as far as I'm concerned , don't listen to them , at least it's angling related . My point is
simply that threads on here often rapidly move away from the point in question and slip into unrelated vitriole and general cobblers

Sorry, poached swan's off: Calls for clampdown on river bandits from eastern EuropeLast updated at 13:14pm on 7th August 2007 There are few sights so serene as a swan sailing majestically along the Grand Union Canal.Except, that is, when it is being chased by a gang of hungry, knife-wielding Eastern Europeans. Polish and Lithuanian immigrants have been seen trying to drag the 20lb birds away, while the remains of some have been found butchered on the towpath near Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. Hundreds are believed to have disappeared from the area. Now, just in case the newcomers are unaware of the law protecting swans, members of Luton Angling Club have come up with a sign making it clear that they
are not for human consumption.
They hope British Waterways will erect it along the canal, along with similar notices featuring carp. The custom of feasting on roast swan died out in Britain a century ago and killing wild swans - which officially belong to the Queen - is now punishable by six months in jail and a £5,000 fine. Club official Joanne Edwards, 44, who patrols the canal regularly, described a number of tense confrontations with Poles and Lithuanians. "Every time I try to explain to them that they can't treat our waters as a larder they just pretend they don't understand," she said. "On one occasion there were four of them fishing and they'd already taken a fish without putting it back. "Then they got a swan round the neck and pulled it back up on to the bank and the four of them were fighting with it, but luckily it was strong enough
to pull away."
Miss Edwards, 44, from Dunstable, added: "A few years ago there were lots of swans on every section of the canal. I recently patrolled a six-mile stretch and saw just two. They're virtually gone from quieter stretches. "Even the number of ducks seems to be less. It's dismal, and the police and Environment Agency don't seem to want to react." She added that the migrants had failed to grasp the concept of catching fish for sport and returning them to the water. "They think they can catch the fish for food, but the club leases the fishing rights on this stretch and our rules are clear that all fish caught must be put back. "We first noticed the problem two or three years ago. Now the carp have nearly all gone. You're lucky to catch one at all in this canal."
Please do not call me racist,im not,no more are Luton angling club, who are suffering from illegal carp culling from the canal from Leighton Buzzard down to ivinghoe. Just reporting the facts

derek, Do you ever think to do a bit of research before you post? If you had the slightest inkling about the housing market in the UK you would know that your last post was the usual rubbish which is trotted out at trendy Bar-B-Q's by daily mail readers and the Guardianista. This article might help you understand the true story so in future instead of trotting out the same old rubbish and urban myths as everyone else you will be able to state the facts. http://www.aboutproperty.co.uk/news/new-homes/housing-shortage-growing-concern-brits-$482547.htm
In case you cant be bothered to read the link I have copied and highlighted a couple of the relevant facts for you.
"However, the public still give credit to persistent myths surrounding house building which are not supported by fact, according to the NHMB. |

It's good to see someone is taking an interest Howard, perhaps this is the sort of problem the Barbel Society should be having a bit more input into.

Derek. signs are a waste of time,as when questioned the reply will be. No understand!! some folk here ought to take off the rose coloured specs, and see the
light.
Come to sunny Luton, and walk through the Arndale shopping centre (any time of day) hundreds of EU ex residents couples and children (no jobs) hanging around the place, then walk to stuart street where they line up waiting for free shopping vouchers.Free shopping vouchers Wish they would hand them out to Ex hard working pensioners. Yeah ok. I know lots of hard working poles,an good for them,if thier lifestlye improves then they deserve it,but 100s of thousands of EU fiddlers do not!!! |

i wasn,t going to comment about non barbel stuff on a barbel thread but feel a terrible need to state this.
because eastern block countries and also some others like portugal ect have become member states it does not automatically give them a right to enter the uk! several countries including poland have to have immigration permission to reside here and lso have to have further immigration permission to work here it really isnt a case of just flying or sailing ovr and sauntering into the uk, ok thats that off me chest....j.w |
