I would agree with Dorset Stour.... Possibly looking upstream from West bank above the nettle beds, towards the bottom of Beat 2 on Throop?

You've both got the right river but wrong locations. Darren is closest. Come on all you Throop specialists!

Dorset Stour was my other thought too. |

Don't really know Throop that well and have not fished it this millenium, but is it just downstream from the end of the Musscliffe free stretch?

Last time I fished Throop(about 25 years ago) I caught a Barbel that bent nearly sideways below its dorsal. Just wonder If anyone else out there can remember
catching it? You would not forget such a fish.

Shaun, you haven't come quite far enough down at Throop. It's the area which I think is called Glenns weir on Beat 1.
I would have said yours was the Wye as well dazza. It looks like that bit Matt Hayes and Mick Brown were fishing for Pike in the late Autmn on one of their
programmes. There again, it does look a little wide for that.

It is indeed the Wye but it is well in flood from last July and again it is just above the stretch Mr Hayes was fishing for Pike...stunning part of the world.
