I certainly won't be using it again and will probably revert to the tried and trusted Drennan Floatfish for next season.

Tried this line for float fishing recently and was constantly troubled with tangles - it seems to enjoy wrapping itself up in knots, forcing me to have to
re-tackle on several occasions. It may just be me (I must be the world's worst angler after all!) but I wonder if anyone else out there has used it and has
had any similar problems?

Rutili,
Powerline is a prestretched low diameter line designed for use as a hooklength. I'd thoroughly recomend it as a hooklink on the float, feeder or pole although it is slightly thicker than the stated diameter. I would steer clear as a mainline. Mark |

i use it as a hooklength for my feeder fishing with absolutely no problems at all. I do find that it has been easily damaged before once or twice though

Hooklength of choice for floater fishing for carp for years. Wouldn't use it as mainline.

I have used it for my float fishing for several years as mainline and hooklenght material and not had a problem with it apart from having to change it slightly
more often than some others. I think as with all these newer lines you have to go by diameter instead of breaking strain and be careful when tying knots I use
the palomar all of the time except when tying spade hooks. Normally use 0.13mm or 0.15mm for my chub, tench and perch fishing and 0.17mm to 0.21mm for barbel
and carp fishing with the next diameter down as hooklenghts. I also use it as hooklength material for ledgering if not on braid or florocarbon.

Good stuff as a hooklength.Have my doubts about these low diameter lines as a hooklength having cracked off on the strike whilst feeder fishing for roach on
probably a big chub or barbel.Just not forgiving enough with ther lack of stretch IMHO.

Thanks guys!
Lesson learnt, I will stick to the tried and trusted in future and revert to Floatfish. Still not sure, though, why, if this stuff is meant as a hooklink material, it is sold in 100m spools? Dave |

Bit fine for mainline but each to his own . I think the tangling problem is probably due to loading it the 'wrong' way.
I've just had a look at a spool and in fact due to its square shape it's virtually impossible to load it the 'right' way except on to a centerpin so I would say hooklinks only. Stickfisher how do you load it? |
