Well I told you it was the kiss of death, on my previous post, and sure enough today was a complete blank, apart from a branch that had obviously just spawned
because it was very thin for its length and for the sake of lurkers it was caught on hair rigged woodworm, I hope to post a picture later. Not a sign of a barb
and just 2 chub plucks on what looked to be the perfect day, how many times do we say that!!!

Hi Jim
Yes it was the same for me. Perfect conditions, 7.1 degrees C water temp not even a chub. The guy on the next swim did have a 12 1/2 barb though on your favourite swim! You have a PM. Colin |

I am undecided as to whether to try a couple of favourite spots on the Avon tomorrow or visit The Soar
Does anyone have any up-to-date info. re. water temps.(critical!) colour, and levels please, as it will help me choose correctly. We're in for a bit of frost tonight which makes decision-making even more fraught. Any help would be appreciated Cheers Roger |

Roger,
Give the Avon a miss mate. Was gonna go today, got in the car at 3pm and by 3:10 the air temp had dropped from 8 degrees to 1 degree. Abruptly did a u turn and went home. A mate of mine is out and the waer temp is dropping fast. It was 48 when i was out yesterday and he text me about 4 today and it had dropped to 44 and was still dropping. Good luck wherever you go mate, i think you will need it. Cheers Lewis |
