Beleive me its true,"no not about the Ham", type in Matt Hayes in google and look for Matt Hayes tv photography or summat like that, then have a look at his days out, theres a pool in the Midlands where he invite you to fish for 3 days and as a gesture he only charges £697 for the next two days (thats each day). And note the comment,"Iwill only have my tackle with me so i can only borrow the odd swivel or bead). Tell ya changed my out look on the guy, best is there all sold out. I'd love to be on the next peg on a 5 hour match. where knowbody has pre baited for him

Good luck to him , if people are soft enough to pay that sort of money it's their choice . Right or wrong he probably has Britains highest angling profile
, he's seen as famous and is always on the telly so many ,as is evident, are more than happy to pay to go out for the day with a celeb . Bet you can't
buy a days footy tutoring with Beckham or some singing lessons from whover is top of the pop charts these days for that sort of money !

You're right Mike, more fool them ! He's hardly a household name though is he? Ask the general population who David Beckham or Amy Whinehouse is and
they'll tell you in a blink of an eye, Matt on the other hand goes fishing, and that aint big on most peoples agenda (thankfully) The majority of people
have never erd of im mate.

...more people go fishing in this country than there is those that play football, we have more registered footballers here than in any other country on Earth,
still, exorbitant prices to watch somebody re-invent something most of do as a norm, 800 £`s + would fuel my car for a full 4 months fishing, i knows where the better value is, |

hi HisMis, a few years back i read an article, from memory, it was stated that there are some 4million+ EA licence holders in the British Isles whilst at the
time there was (i think) 1m+ registered Footballers, how many unlicensed Anglers or unregistered Footballers is anybodies guess, yet as far as sporting
participation goes Football is a long way behing Angling within the Worlds leading Football community
reguarding the two sports from a spectators point of view, whilst football is truly global Angling is after all a minority pastime, a Sat afternnon on the bank or sat at Old Trafford watching the beautiful game, well, i dont and dont ever fish at weekends, and, if the weathers right mid-week i have even been known to give some very desirable tickets away, not slating Matt, nor am i having a go, not been on the bank since Nov\Dec, there are times when Anglings "hero`s" do enough to keep one sane |

It is an unbelievable fee.
But I say 'fair play to him'. No one's forcing anyone into anything. Anyone else see him on Tightlines last week? He looked absolutely shattered/zombie. His early programmes were so ropey but the ones with Mick Brown were great.
"Robson Green is an actor, not a fisherman. What's next? John Wilson presents ice skating?"

I think you will find that Matt doesn't really want to spend his time guiding but is regularly asked to do it so, he asks for a stupid amount of money. Do
you know what? People are happy to pay it just to say they have fished with him.
Bob James charges three or four hundred quid, John Bailey the same (and I've seen him take the same person out three days running!!), if people are happy to cough up the dosh who are we to question it? |
