All the screws were proud, and rough, the bale arm had to large chips out of it. It was a very poor chinese copy of a 300. If you looked at the 17th Dec feedback another chap said the same. Worse was the fact he would not refund without lots of hassle. He does have a lot of good feedback. I guess if it's a genuine one, you will be ok. Very rarely do I have problems on ebay. But personally..I won't deal with the indv again. Anyone want a "new Mitchell 300 for a fiver!" Graham Graham Elliott

Object of boyhood fantasy in 1963 (almost as much as Honey Rider - Ursula Andress - emerging, Aphrodite-like, from the Caribbean waves in "Dr No"). £6 19s. 6d. "Have I been good enough - scored enough Good Conduct Marks with Mum and Dad this year - to get the ruddy thing for Christmas? I can't hack this Intrepid Monarch much longer..." I got it for Christmas. Pride and joy, pride and and joy (together with a 308 my big sister and her newly landed husband-to-be got me for a birthday present at the Boat Show - it must have been LOVE - in 1964). I was Walker now, I was insuperable, unstoppable, even magnificent... Until the s0d's slipping-clutch failed to give line to the first salmon I hooked a few years later and I was poo-ing myself so much I never thought of backwinding. He caught a pike in a match and kicked it around the bank until it died. The club just told him off. But then again his mates were on the Committee at the time. Of course, they have all gone now, I managed to get rid of them and many of the riffraff that held the club back. I paid the price of being banned, and would not compromise my principals by agreeing to be silent on the outcome despite being offered an immediate ticket. Wightman? Is to be allowed back into the club I think next season. For killing a pike, attacking a club member and being nicked by the police, fishing when banned numerous times and then having his ban reduced by 5 years. Yes, that's the chap. TDFC are welcome to him. But......................all the rest of the SxxT that supported his actions are gone. Excellent result. Mr Smugness.......I like that too. Graham Elliott

Had the 300 dreams, Gold Star, Velocette Venom Thruxton,an Vincent 1000 ones,along with Manx Nortons G50 Matchless,an Mk1 Gt cortinas. an Norton 750 Atlas,an Matchless G12 csr Fullfilled a few of them Had an Atlas,fast but engine broke twice a year,an even when running good leaked oil on the back tyre. My matchless broke a crank,an my 3 GT Cortinas all broke engines,an worse still was then told,the Faithful mars-Bar story was untrue My Three 300s on a regular basis broke bale arm springs,needing me to keep loads of spares,and when you diddent need it,allways when playing a good-un the line gets under the spool an wraps itself around the threaded spindle. So very glad to sell all on ebay.........French rubbish So nowadays Glad to use Japanese REELS,BIKES an CARS,though do own a DAGANHAM DUSTBIN VAN. Must Change it Before it claps out

Still got a recording somewhere of 'Lucy Jordan' lovely song,lovely lady .Re Cortinas, the engines never broke in the wet, thats cos they would never bloody start ! Remember Spangles and Curly Wurlys ? Think they made 300 bail springs out of the same toffee that was in them ! cue Mike Hodgkiss --------- !
