Rich - I fished the RDAA stetch of Padworth Tuesday (blanked!) and have done a number of times over the years.
It certainly ain't easy but there are some decent fish in there. The lane is indeed a nightmare - really need a 4-wheel drive or a Sherman tank! It's then a fair trek across the fields. Upstream is a Feltham Piscatorials section and above that Wasing. I believe all of the opposite bank is Wasing. Feltham have put up some new signs which make the boundaries a bit clearer. If you see the big black cat you'll know you're heading in the right direction! |

Hi all,
Whats this about a big black cat? I'm not bothered by the state of the lane I'm gonna get the train and walk any way.Though Sunday I'm gunna take a walk down to Beat 3b just for a look it's easier to get to plus if all else fall I can go up stream as I have the Cemex ticket as well. All the best for the weekends fishing' Rich |

Rich. If you are going to that bit, and into dark, just be very alert to growling sounds behind you.

The go cat is now empty I have twigged what your all on about(at last).
After some careful concideration I think I might give Padworth Mill a miss no wonder no one on the RDAA site was 'willing' to help I bet no one go's there. I had a strange experince at Burghfield a few years ago and at present dont really want to repeat it. Rich

Just to put you in the picture - last season two anglers returning after a session are supposed to have seen what they believed was a large black cat across the fields (i.e. far bigger than a mogey!). Padworth Mill is pretty remote and is the sort of place you could imagine a panther might live. Padworth doesn't get fished much because of the state of the lane followed by a marathan walk. It's also supposed to fish better after dark - just make sure you keep looking over your shoulder for those large green eyes!

I had a quick session late yesterday afternoon into evening, river still up but fining and colour dropping, still looking nice with a temp's still strong.
Obviously we are now fishing a cooling river but they are still having a munch. i found that smaller baits are working at the moment, a case of something for
them to nibble on after all that gorging they have been doing. Anyhoo, as usual I had to wait after dark and a text book bite and a really cheeky 7lb+ fish,
another quick cast after and a lively 4lb + Brownie, which was fuin seeing it tailwalk !!!!
Went down to the Loddon after to see the buddies and was all quiet until one of them had a nice fish of 12lb exactly ! Off to the Loddon tomorrow afternoon for a sortie, wish me luck, and hopefully no big black pussies ! Or should that be, hopefully ??!! J |
