I fished it in the mid 80's. I remember at the time it looked freshly dug, although more likely it had suffered some further gravel extraction. Looked like
it was in somebodys back garden. Back then Kings tackle shop had it, though I can't believe they've had it since. I would love to know who has it now,
as I had almost forgotten about it. I don't suppose it's in with the main Taplow pit now, which I think is a syndicate. I'll have a chat with Kings
next time I'm in. How about Berry Hill lake over the road, who's got that? Phil

Didn't Bury Hill disappear when the Jubilee River was built? Mentioning Taplow Pit brings back great memories. ICI AC shared it back in the 70s and I
fished there a lot as a kid. Cracking roach, bream, tench & pike were in residence and not too hard to catch. I also caught some lovely carp that grew on
to be the monsters that eventually resulted in the water being syndicated. Hapyy days.

I remember fishing (without permit) as a kid after school in the summer when Boyer had it, my mates ran off when the bailiff came round....leaving me to play a
4lb tench on my own as he came storming up the bank.......cheers guys!!! ARF!

Steve, I think Berry Hill lake is still there, but the relief channel went very close to it and may have messed it up. Remember talking to somebody about it
years ago, but can't even remember who it was. Think Kingsmoor used to have it, I will talk to Davey in Kings next time I'm in there. Phil

I think you will find Amerden pond is now in the grounds of a pretty exclusive housing development.
Berry Hill is still there and still run by Kingsmore. Some of the trees were lost due to the relief channel and the end nearest the A4 got a bit messed up so its not quite as pretty and isolated as it once was. They have had a couple of fish kills recent years so there are no big fish (not that they ever were very big) Not fished it for years. Still fish Taplow pit,it is now better than it ever was.10 to 15 year waiting list for a night ticket. Phil.W |
