thanks mate she was the first decent one this season,out last night lost a big fish,a number of reasons been going through my head won't go into much depth,gutted.!!!one of them things.happy tho cause they have a taste for my new winter bait. |

Hi all,
Just returned from a 3 hour session on a new stretch and the result was a fantastic barbel weighing 8lb 14oz - pic to follow. Had the fish on a halibut pellet just aproaching dark. If I said I'm well chuffed it's an understatement.

The river weren't to bad just within its banks held bottom with 5 oz and weren't that much rubbish coming through,i fished two swims for bout 40
mins or so then moved on to the swim that i wanted to have a proper go at.had a bait in for 40 mins aswell,then it leathered down bottled it then done the
offs,if i stayed for a couple more hours i would of been swimming home it was rising quick.blanked mate but it looks alright

Hi all,
Had a short session this afternoon,doing a bit of wandering round a few swims.Had 1 scamp just under 5lb.Water was 47f,so if you can find a bank to stand on.Nows the time to get out. Good luck Nige. |

yeah its early days yet mate,havent even roved the hole strecth yet you never know a lump might show,the fish have been seen early season on the move not
holding in a few different areas so its just case of sticking at it.i'll get there hopefully

Had one about 5lb on Wednesday night. The first fish to my own basemix paste, lost one about a month ago to the bait which erked me somewhat. Looks like i have
about 3 weeks off work now so will be able to fish more. Snapped one of my Fox Specials 1 1/2lb and purchased a Shimano Hyperloop 2lb fish play action rod as i
really struggled to control the fish i caught on the Fox rod. Think it may be knackered and may break like the other one, ah well that's what you get
trying to chuck 5 ounce feeders into the Trent. Out Yesterday 4.00pm till 7.00pm only interest was from some chub. Frost was starting to form on my still damp
landing net when i left. Think I'll go out roving after lunch but going to be back so i can hit the pub at 5.00pm.

Had one about the same size as yours on saturday Bob.There was a rapid drop in the level as well.Did you have the same upstream?The colours dropped out
aswell.Need some more rain.

Same happened here Nige, level dropped like a brick along with the temperature. High pressure has killed it good and proper, 5 hours for 2 chub.....the target
species, missed 3 other bites
 little knocks from the roach. Liquidised bread is
normally a killer, but not today. Going to try and really have some night roving sessions next week instead of the 3 x 2 hours stints i put in last week. Have
hardly fished for them since September as conditions have been crappy, lets hope we get some more rain soon.

hello alex,i haven't been fishing since the last post think its been 2 wks now haven't been very well pus the weather.i think i might leave that
stretch to next season and just finish the season on the water im on now.try and track them down in the close and start of next season might be a bit easier
mate,i'll be definitely out this wk gagging to get out and the weather speaks really good too.u and nige been having any out?

Nige had another last weekend, about 5lbs. Haven't had one for about 3 weeks now but dont mind...just enjoy getting out and wetting a line.
Having short sessions generally from about 2 to 6pm. Like you, will walk the banks in the close season trying to spot some fish and locate new areas. Will be out again next weekend for sure as haven't fished this weekend. Tight lines. |

Can't fish this week, Doctors orders as i had an epidural last Tuesday. Booked off next week when hopefully i can put some evening sessions in. Baited my
stretch last night and will do the same again Wednesday night with the intent to fish on Saturday evening. Maybe add some more bait Sunday night and then fish
every night from Tuesday onwards dependant on weather. Hopefully, this should start to produce some results for all the effort in making my own bait, never
again though............ especially as you can get 25kg made to your own recipe from CC Moore's.
