i take it no one is barbel fishing at the mo?the weather man says he's gonna bring a bit of half decent weather for the barbel at the wk end?

It will be Monday for me as sunday nights min temp is meant to be 7 degrees.

it'll be sunday night for me if the weather is half decent for them,havn't been out for a while cause of this gay weather!
hopefully its gonna change for next wk the only thing is its christmas and i'll be to drunk and full of food to be wanting to do anything. i'll get a session in before the new year merry christmas all |

Got to agree, this weather is pants and has probably chilled the water too much to make it worth bothering for the barbel. Will probably try for the roach on
hemp and tare or liquidise some bread for the chub.

its raining,now is the time to get out there,can't get out made plans with the mrs.just hope they don' gorge them selves and leave a bit of space in

Hi all,
Had the afternoon on the bank yesterday.As expected,not a sniff from a barbel.Bit i think i could of bagged if i was after roach and dace.Getting little plucks at the bait all day.River was up about a foot,but with no extra colour(wierd) and still cold at 39F. Anyone else been chancing their luck? Cheers Nige. |

havn't been for ages,don't even know what the river is like.gettin this bit of christmas out of the way,then hit it properly but i think a bit of high
pressure on the way for next wk so i'll wait untill its right for them

Had another go on the new stretch again this evening.And its starting to show its potential.At 5 o'clock i had a big wrap round and after a few screaming
runs across the river,netted an 11lb 8oz beauty.Which is also a new PB.Well chuffed.

Some great looking fish there mate.If there all from your syndicate,there's a good stock of large fish in there.Just wondering.Does their breath smell of semolina 
Hi Tom, To be honest mate,these are the first barbel since the summer floods for me.So i know what you mean.But perseverance is the name of the game i've found when barbel fishing.Keep at it mate. cheers Nige

i know what your saying nige you'll be on a run now,im not to bothered if i have many more fish,there very welcome tho.i had alot of the fish at june to
end of october and kept on smashing the pb so can't really moan!

only been the once and had the 11lb 14oz that i mentioned earlier or on the other forum. waiting for pics. been doing abit of piking but got a new carp
syndicate ticket starts today so will be over there markering up and baiting then start in a few weeks fishing it.
