Lost one Tuesday, would have been the first one on my own bait which i have just started to use after feeding for a while. Fished Wednesday and yesterday late
morning for about 2 hours and blanked. Might go down shortly for a couple of hours as starting work at2.00pm.

Hi all, Went out this evening.Guess what?Blanked again.Beginning to wonder if its worth bothering anymore.Confidence is at an alltime low.And i'm stumped as to
what to try next.Can't even get a bite from chub or bream.

been really tuff recently,ive changed bait been fishing at the right times still nothing.been resorting to pike fishing just to get a bend in the rod.gonna
give tonight a bash see if anyting turns up but i honestly think they have moved on. i havnt fished this stretch in the winter so they might move out at this
time of the year who knows

Just been down to feed the barbel. Might go tomorrow night, but it's looking like the weekend for me now. Plenty of rain due Wednesday so levels might rise
a bit, spot on for the weekend. Nice fish Lee, thought you were a fair weather angler though
 don't bother going down you know where, as they won't be hungry till
Thursday............. that's when i put the next lot in

well in lee nice one mate,just got in from doing a bit lost one and had a cracking one at 8-4 lovely lookin fish.i was wrong they havn't moved out
happy to say.low pressure bringing in good conditions for are bearded friends

lost one on the home made,and landed the other on a little bag mix with good old fashioned hot peperrami and of few crushed bolies and a heathly dunking of
marmite

Went for a couple of hours last night.God it was warm.Had a good fish on but hook pulled after about 10 seconds.Gutted!!But at least something is feeding at
last.Anyone else had any joy?

Hi All,
Went out again this morning.Thought it would be the best time to go this weekend.River was up and had a nice colour and 45f.But far to much $!!+ and leaves coming down.Could only hold bottom for about 10 minutes before the build up of leaves on the line dragged the lead.And that was with 7oz leads.Need i say,not a sniff. cheers Nige. |

Hi all,
Tried a completely new stretch of the Nene today.And result at last.9lb 8oz and first barbel since the summer floods.River was 44f and full of leaves.So instead of fishing with rods pointing skywards, had to fish with the tip under the water and used flying back leads.Pic should be in the gallery soon. I'm thinking of trying the Nene Near Northampton on the Northampton Nene AC, Earls Barton AC and WDNAC sections does anyone have any info? Are these
sections are realistically worth targeting.

Geoff, just posted on the Ouse board. Noddyt has been after the barbel on the Wellingboro' water near Ringstead but without success so i understand. There
are barbel at Earls Barton and Chounds Mill roundabout wier pool - if you are passing, ask in the tackle shop in Irthlingboro', i don't think they will
have much info but will let you know where you can fish on what ticket. The rest is up to you I'm afraid, they are there it's just finding them. Those
of us that have found them are reluctant to give info because it is so hard won, suffice to say the challenge is there and the reward of a Nene double is
particularly sweet. Best tip i can give you is to fish at night for them.

About 3 years ago I saw a couple of barbel in one of the areas you mention. One would have been 10lb+ the other around 6lb. I fish the area regularly for carp and have only seen the barbel on one occasion and have never caught them whilst carp fishing. I guess if I continue to fish for the carp in "barbelly" looking areas I may get lucky! |

hello geoff,just a thing bout chounds mill i ust to fish it last season and early this year untill i got two of the car windows smashed through,
bastuards!!!irthlingborough uster hav the ticket put they pulled out cause of public liability,the travellers live two mins away from it they own both of the
fields.And forever making a mess and hazards to the place fires stuff like that.Ive heard of earls barton too
