The skee-tex field boots:
http://www.skee-tex.co.uk/fish/field.htm Fulfill 1,2, and 3. Grips not the best but is sufficient. I used a pair last winter and they are brilliant.

Hhmmmm, i know a couple of people who have has the field boots............and no longer do. The only waterproof part is the two inches at the bottom, with
leaks reported coming from the tongue, the joints and everywhere!

Found Skeetex to be awful things for walking (unless you like sitting in the mud) wore mine twice, then slung em in the garage, and bought a pair of pro-logic
boots from leslies of luton, can walk ok in them, warm as toast, and waterproof, about £50
But have heard that the best waterproof boots, and warmist are made by Baffin, again can be bought at leslies, downside is about £100. regards Howard |

If money is no object get a pair of Baffin outback Boots. I was looking at a pair of these in Cartes last weekend and I've fallen in love with them, so
much so I've asked them to get a pair of 7`s in for me. I'll not spoil the surprise by telling you the price.

Skeetex, Essex boots, I don't know if I would like to run a marathon in them but they do keep your feet warm...........too warm at times, and I hardly
ever fall over in mine........but then I'm not as clumsy as some.

Gotta agree the Skeetex Field boots are #!#*, only worn mine a hand full of times. Terrible to walk in, wont tighten up enough always feel loose.

They call em Skeetex, for the Ski like comparison in wet mud.............................as you fly down the bank like Eddie-the-Eagle.

Try Derri Boots Dan. I've tried Skeetex, Ron Thompson's and field boots and none compare. They are 100% waterproof, thermal lined and do not have the
thick soles that the likes of Skeetex have, so are very easy to walk in and comfortable to wear all day on the bank. They are first class and I highly
recommend them mate.

What type or Derri Boots do you have? |

They are the Pisces model. Bought them a couple of years ago after getting fed up trudging around in heavy moon boots.

Titanium Ice Dragon sold by Teme-Severn, only one pair of socks needed, comfy for long walks, great for getting up and down the wet banks and keep those toes
warm as toast.
Couldn't fault them, see here Jas |

Jas - the Ice Dragon boots: can you buy your normal shoe size? They only go up to 12's, which is my normal size.
Oaksey - any suppliers of Derri boots you can think of? cheers Dan |

Yes Dan these seem to be about the cheapest I can find - Derri Boots.

Tried three of the types previously mentioned:
Skeetex - very warm but because the soles don't flex that much then grip is a bit lacking on steep banks. Derri Pisces - very warm (maybe not quite up to Skeetex) but better grip and a more flexible boot than the Skeetex. Muck Boot - Derwent - warm, grip good - my current favourite. Tip - buy the 'boot jack' (around £5 to 6) very useful taking off mucky boots without getting your hands too messed up. Cheers Bob |
